Barack Obama famously refused to support the surge in Iraq, claiming it would "make things worse." Events have of course proved him very wrong, as Obama had to admit to Bill O'Reilly. Now that he's acknowledged the efficacy of a surge, will he call for one . . . in his own hometown?
As per this item [via Drudge] from the CBS affiliate in Chicago:
"An estimated 123 people were shot and killed over the summer. That's nearly double the number of soldiers killed in Iraq over the same time period."

Update | 2:56 PM EDT: Alana Russo of MSNBC has responded to my inquiry, stating that the allegation is “completely, totally untrue.” In a subsequent message Ms. Russo indicated she is unaware of the results of the scanning, if any, of the credentials used by the protesters.
Huh? Plausible deniability?
If MSNBC doesn’t know the results of the scanning, if any, I do wonder how they can be so certain the credentials didn’t come from MSNBC?

Less than 4,000 US forces have been killed AT THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY, in Iraq, in this same time frame. The mainstream media ALWAYS reports all of the deaths, which include accidental fatalities unrelated to combat. The accidental fatalities include, but are not limited to; death by accidental weapon discharges, electrocutions, falls, heart attacks, vehicular accidents, suicides, etc.
At one time, more US forces were killed in motorcycle accidents annually, than had been killed in Afghanistan.
