Will Obama Support Chicago Surge? Hometown Death Toll Double Iraq's
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 09/05/2008 8:25:38 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Barack Obama famously refused to support the surge in Iraq, claiming it would "make things worse." Events have of course proved him very wrong, as Obama had to admit to Bill O'Reilly. Now that he's acknowledged the efficacy of a surge, will he call for one . . . in his own hometown?

As per this item [via Drudge] from the CBS affiliate in Chicago:

"An estimated 123 people were shot and killed over the summer. That's nearly double the number of soldiers killed in Iraq over the same time period."

Sounds like he needs to organize the community a little better.

When my son was born in 1990 we traveled to Peru for his adoption. At the time the Sendero Luminoso/Tupac Amaru were fighting a terrorist war to transform Peru into a collectivist agrarian paradise. In that year, 1,900 Peruvians were killed in the civil war, nationwide. That same year more than 2,200 New Yorkers were killed in random violence in the Land of Dinkins. When I told Lima residents who endured car bombings and machine-gun attacks nearly every week that there were more than 2,000 murders in New York City, they were horrified.

Gee, Oprah, can’t ya fix it? Can’t you get the right people elected in Chicago who know what to do by now? Maybe a few more give away shows to the locals?

What’s needed is a surge of Community Organizers. That should do the trick. Maybe when the protesters are through at the convention they can organize Chicago.

The Community Organizers declared victory and pulled out.

What a great photo of a failed community organizer. Had Obama done his job there would be less illegal guns on the streets and 123 citizens would be still alive.

“This is a pretty retarded post.”????

You are correct your relpy is retarted!!!!

The “community organizer” didn’t stop the violence in Chicago....

Sooo, we should now quit! Give up Chicago, it is an UNWINNABLE WAR!!!!!

Withdraw the TROOPS(police) from Chicago by the end of the year.

THOSE people in Chicago will never stop killing themselves!!!!

Turn over Chicago and let the Crips and the Blood take over!

This ibviously a civil war within the streets of Chicago. I recomend an immediate pullout and create different states within the city itself.

Eat what you sow Obama!

Call to pull the cops out of Chicago to help put an end to the violence. Experience for yourself what the Iraqi’s would feel when the U.S. military pulls out of Iraq before the job is done.
