ST. PAUL, Minn. - Senator Barack Obama will increasingly lean on prominent Democratic women to undercut Gov. Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain , dispatching Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to Florida on Monday and creating a rapid-response team to deploy female surrogates to battleground states, Obama advisers said on Thursday.
Mrs. Clinton’s campaign event in Florida, her first for Mr. Obama since the Democratic convention last month, will include a forceful response to the searing attacks and fresh burst of energy that Ms. Palin injected into the race with her convention speech on Wednesday night, Obama aides said.

Clinton may have hoped for a McCain win, and then run in 2012. But if McCain wins, she'll have to run against incumbent Palin.
Assuming that McCain would not run for reelection.
OTOH, if Obama wins, she has to run against incumbent Obama.
If Obama wins this election, he will control the DNC and Clinton will not be able to run effectively against a sitting President in 2012. If she tries, it will destroy her viability as a Presidential candidate as surely as it destroyed Ted Kennedy's.
My opinion, she's going to do all she can to help Obama win, and hope that he does a bad job if he wins.
Nope. If Obama wins she has no shot at the nomination until 2016. She will do precisely enough for Obama to establish for the record that she aided his campaign, and she will do no more than that.
If McCain wins and she runs in 2012 she is guaranteed to be the Democrat nominee.
If Obama wins she is guaranteed not to be the Democrat nominee in 2012.
The set-up to let “the one” dangle in the breeze so she can run 4 years from now.

I’m sure they don’t understand, it is her toughness that we like, not that she’s a woman. It is her conservative stances that we love. It doesn’t hurt that she’s good looking on top of it.

OK, I have to admit that I thought the title of this article was bogus, like some kind of satire thing or an article from the Onion. But it really is the title. Team zerObama is going from one failed strategy to another. I’m so glad this is turning out to be the disaster it is for them. If Sarah Palin can take on the whole MSM on national television, these surrogates for the kid hiding behind the skirts will be easy for her to dispatch. It’s amazing to see so much political fallout come from one speech.
