Browne sued McCain for $75,000 for playing “Running on Empty” at a rally. I don’t know whether poor little Jackie got any money but he probably really needs it.

We saw Jackson Browne in concert at a National Guard Armory in Mobile AL back in 1974, when he was just beginning to be popular. We really wanted to see Phoebe Snow, who was opening for him on that tour, but she cancelled, and somebody else opened, instead; I don't even remember who it was.

I've always liked Jackson Browne's music; some more than others, but I like his voice.

The Ohio Republican party made a McCain TV ad that used Jackson Browne’s “Running on Empty”. Since this was for use in a film context, they needed permission.
