AWESOME and again, basically the same viewers, but MORE WOMEN last night than last week this time!

And her audience compares to 24 million who tuned in last Wednesday when Senator Joe Biden accepted the Democratic vice presidential nod, and 21 million who watched the GOP convention on Tuesday night. Nielsen also noted that 19.5 million women watched Wednesday night, 4.9 million more than a week ago for the Democratic convention. PBS, meanwhile, reported that 3.2 million viewers watched its coverage Wednesday night -- the second highest viewership during either convention behind only Obama's acceptance speech, which drew 3.5 million on that network. Its number for Wednesday night was far higher than the 1.9 million on Tuesday night. That makes Palin's total at least 40 million. Obama's acceptance address drew more than 40 million viewers total

Shouldn't Governor Palin's 38 million viewers be compared with Senator Biden's viewership? Or has the press decided that Palin is at least as presidential as Obama (I know, that's a low standard), and the comparison is fair?

It has nothing to do with the press. This is an intentional campaign strategy to keep their number 1 (Osama) running against and justifying himself to our number 2 (Palin). The longer this continues the better for our side. People are actually now questioning if our vice presidential candidate is more prepared for the presidency than their presidential candidate. I hope it goes on for the next two months.

I amazed at how dumb the Dems have been. They are the ones that have shifted it into a Obama vs. Palin campaign. Besides getting off their tie McCain to Bush message, the who's ready/who's not ready, who has more experience arguments will just lead people to conclude that neither Obama or Palin is ready (so they'll vote for the PRESIDNETIAL candidate that is ready--McCain.)

You would think they would have enough sense to realize that if you can't shoot the other candiate, at least don't shoot yourself, but apparently their dislike of Palin is so intense they can't help themselves.

IIRC, that is the number of HOUSEHOLDS that were tuned in.

It’s simple,

We are witness to the future of the Republican party. This woman WILL be PRESIDENT someday! Hopefully after she serves as John McCain’s VP!

I Love this woman!!!

I and my family will be voting for McCain. I really hope they can beat OBAMA BIN BIDEN on NOV. 4!

How do they come up with these numbers? I watched last night but I didn’t tell them.

Oh! Sorry about that. I told them FOR you and then forgot to let you know. You were busy at the time and I didn't want to disturb you.

No need to thank me.

LOL

some commentary from the swamp-— http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/09/sarah_palin_draws_obamalike_tv.html ST. PAUL, Minn. — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was a huge magnet for TV viewers, attracting nearly as many eyeballs as Sen. Barack Obama did on the last day of the Democratic convention, according to Nielsen, the audience-measurement agency. Here’s a thumbnail provided by Nielsen: The Sarah Palin speech generated 37.2 million viewers, just 1.1 million viewers short of Barack Obama’s record-breaking speech on Day 4 of the Democratic Convention. The Palin speech was carried on only six networks while the Obama speech was carried on ten (including BET, TV One, Univision and Telemundo). Palin attracted a large female audience (19.5 million women, or 4.9 million more than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention). Ratings for viewers 55+ (25.2) continue to be about ten times higher than for teens (2.2) Day 3 for the GOP attracted more Hispanic viewers (1.4 million) than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention (1.2 million), even though Univision and Telemundo did not carry the speech.

Basically, this is awesome! haha And as others pointed out, this speech got WAY better reviews (even by the drive bys) than OHB's speech, and it's the big talk on the cover of major newspapers and the morning talk shows. People who didn't see it, will definitely go watch it now.

Hopefully after she serves as John McCain’s VP!

Very briefly, I hope.

Good point. Compare her numbers to Biden, not Obama.

Better still, compare her numbers to the people that were actually AWAKE at the end of Biden's speech. ;)

I think the McCain campaign should offer to have Palin debate Obama. Forget Biden (everyone else has).

Interestingly enough, there were over 20 debates during her 2006 Governor’s race. She’s hardly unaccustomed to them.

Palin’s speech even had greater impact since more women, Reagan Dems and indys were watching as opposed to the Messiah’s ascent into heaven. Don;t forget, of the 38 mill which watch the Messiah’s coronation, a few million were black Americans who are certainly not fence sitters in this election. Last night, I read this morning less then half of the blacks who watched Bambi, watched Palin. Thus, her potential target market increased even more as a higher pecentage of swing voters tuned in.

their dislike of Palin is so intense they can't help themselves.

That's exactly what it is. She's pro-Life, pro-Gun.
It's everything they abhor. So they are in a rage!
Their rage will lead them to self-destruction.

I am enjoying every minute of it.

"I think the McCain campaign should offer to have Palin debate Obama"

You know, you may actually be onto something. If they proposed that debate, that would be definite put-up or shut-up situation to Obama's worshippers/Sarah's detractors. Obama'd be damned if he accepted and damned if he rejected.

Hannity just said that Sarah was watched on 4 fewer networks then the Messiah.

All Barry’s attack dogs did is cause a lot of people to tune in expecting to see The Palin Family Freak Show. Organizing such smear freaks is his biggest life accomplishment. Can you say ‘back-fire’ bro? Waiting those 24 hours to see how the smear tactics would be perceived bit him; alas, the high road not taken...

Key point in that link: Palin had the larger total audience (over 40 million to Obama’s less than 40 million), all Obama beat her at was the viewers for the 3 biggest networks!

Excellent idea! An offer he can't refuse (without looking like a coward) or accept (without getting whupped).
