Obama to Appear on O'Reilly Factor Thursday
Wall Street Journal ^ | Sept. 3, 2008 | Susan Davis

Posted on 09/03/2008 11:44:05 PM PDT by FocusNexus

Barack Obama will appear on Fox News with conservative Bill O'Reilly on Thursday, the same night John McCain gives his acceptance speech at the Republican convention here. What a coincidence!

The first-time appearance by the Illinois senator on O'Reilly's show will likely be a ratings draw, although it will not go head-to-head with McCain's speech.

Obama's interview will air at 8:00 p.m. EDT, while McCain's speech will air after 9:00 p.m.

O'Reilly will sit down with Obama Thursday in York, Pa., where he plans to question Obama on his "political career, domestic issues and foreign policy in Iran and Iraq," according to a statement by the network, which is owned by News Corp., which also owns The Wall Street Journal.

Just trying to distract from McCain's big night.

I bet O'Reilly will throw him softballs.

I bet O'Reilly will throw him softballs.

I expect it to be rather disgusting.

Doing this on Thursday night? Please.

Who knows, maybe O’Reilly will surprise us, but I can’t help but recall the much-anticipated “show down” with Michael Moore that amounted to swapping spit, probably while playing footsies under the table.

Well, at least they are saving the best (McCain’s speech) for last.

I wonder if BOR is still going to air the “Obama Chronicles” he was preparing when it looked like Obama wasn’t going to give him an interview.

This is disgusting. This is OUR week. This is an attempt by the Obama camp to reduce the bump we get from OUR week. I will never watch Bill again. I suggest everyone write to FOX news over this.

Sally Quinn made a smelly puddle in O’Reilly’s no spin zone tonight, and he was too feckless to even realize it! I imagine he'll put on chap-stick before taking Barry to the zone for heavy petting.

You can be sure, that Obama didn’t agree to go with BOR until AFTER he had reached an agreement that BOR would either kiss his ring, his a$$ or give him only approved questions.....

BOR wants to be loved as a star, not respected as a journalist.

I’m sure Obama wouldn’t of gone on the show unless he was going to get the questions in advance and refuse any he didn’t like.
Its going to be a dog and pony show by O’Reilly. Nothing but softballs.

Remember the night of Obama's speech - press were trying to get McCain to give a hint about his VP pick - McCain refused to talk to them =, saying, "This is Obama's night"

the obambi does the opposite - agrees to give the puke, BOR, an interview but ONLY if just before McCains' speech - and BOR says, well, what could I do...

Tell ya what I can do, BOR. I can not watch you tomorrow night or hereafter. This is the proverbial straw.

You sell your convictions cheap.

Palin should NOT go on his show.

He treats women like chattel, and most definitely will say something sexist to her.

If she does go on his show, she should sit close enough to grizzly-slap him.

O’Reilly still has a show?

Give him a mirror and he could preen and talk about looking out for himself....oops the people.... yeah the people.

Glenn Beck is so much better.

BOR (IF he truly had any guts): Senator Obama, after watching Governor Palin’s address Wednesday night, can you tell our viewers what it feels like to be “field dressed”?

Obama is scared.

He really isn't handling the days since his big speech well at all.

If he's off prompter, he's awful, so I don't know why people are upset about this--even if BOR throws him softballs (he will), people will see the simple truth about Obama:he's boring.

O'Reilly's interview is about O'Reilly. It is not to get the facts he says he wants for the American people--although this is what he tells himself and believes. However I know he will throw him many softballs and if he doesn't and asks some hard questions he will let him off on his answers. Why? Because O'Reilly is more focused on his resume than realizing he is stepping all over the RNC's final day. Honestly, Fox is being used as a massive tool by Obama and so is Bill and we Republicans and conservatives are given the fingers. He called those against him on this nuts.

HMMM. I watch him everynight. I guess I am a nut than and shall not bother watching any more. Obama is getting more respect than his committed viewers on this one. Screw him. Find someone else to poo on O'Reilly you dumped on me and my husband and we will watch another show during your slot. Until I found out he was doing this and called people opposing him on this nuts. I watched. No more.
