As far as I know these two were united by God before the foundation of the earth and in God's eyes they have always been married. Do you actually think that a judge or preacher or rabbi or Muslim cleric or Hindu priest declaring you married makes it so?
So what is the definition of "fornication" then if it's not unmarried sex.
And we are repeatedly warned to "abstain" from it and "repent" from it in the Bible.
By your logic....there's no need of marriage, the foundation of families. We can just go around saying...."we're married in the eyes of God" and live common law.
Come on....I'm not attacking the young couple. You asked the question and I answered it.
"Fornication" IS a sin and we're ALL sinners. If not of that very human sin, then of some other. But thank God for His Grace which forgives our sins by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Your answer is wrong. They have not committed fornication and by the way, who did marry Adam and Eve or any other Biblical figure like Abraham and Sarah? As far as I can tell the man took the woman into the tent, they consummated the marriage and they were married, in the eyes of God that is.
Wow! Thanks for the endorsement! :o)
Sorry you don't believe in marriage. Unfortunately there's more and more people like you, to the determent of society in my opinion.
As for your Biblical questions....I've taught weekly in depth Bible classes for more then 20 years and readily admit that I've only scratched the surface of what the Bible has to teach mankind. I don't claim to be any kind of Biblical expert.
Since the Biblical account says God "gave" Eve to Adam I guess you can say that He "married" them with His command to "be fruitful and multiply". As for the Patriarchs, yes, most had plural marriages in accordance with their laws and customs of the time and God blessed those unions. Was there a marriage "ceremony". Don't know but I expect it was formalized in some way.
That said... nowhere in the Bible is fornication identified as anything other than sin.
This is why I rarely post. Very tiresome unless you automatically agree with "the crowd". That's my last post on the subject so don't expect any further reply.
Could the Bible teach us that the way we view marriage isn't how God views it? You say yourself that you have only scratched the surface. Could God be saying that Bristol and Levi are married in his eyes? I know you wont respond but you could consider what I am saying.
NJOT=NOT!

Just wait a couple of decades from now when some of these kids are running for public office somewhere. And it won’t be just the stupid things they have said as teen-agers but they will just keep saying the same kind of stuff even as they get older.
You gotta admit, that if they intended to marry anyway....sooner would have been better than later.
Then maybe we’d have been spared the media feeding frenzy

I agree with you.
They need to get all these children out of the spotlight by yesterday and quit parading them around. The first time should have been the last time.
I feel it is being rubbed in my face.
Thank you, LibertyRocks! That bumper sticker is very clever as well!
I read today that they've been engaged since January.
