Very classy of McCain
The McCain campaign was fully aware of the pregnancy before they invited Governor Palin on board.
The entire town of Wasilla was apparently aware of it as well.
It was only acknowledged in the media to counter the vicious and breathtakingly low-class rumors being circulated by the Left.
A 'major distraction'? The Left certainly wishes that it had been, but I don't see it causing any actual 'distractions' for McCain.

Obama is evil—he will murder his own blood and flesh because babies ‘are a punishment’ —this stands in total contrast to Levi and Bristol and the unconditional love and support from their families.

Whoever wrote the caption for the beautiful family photo must have gotten verklempt by the last name, and wasn’t up to the task of naming each person correctly.

No, it’s just something I put together. But I think it would be an effective way for her to take the media’s negative reports and turn them into a massive positive.

I am reading the biography, Faith of My Fathers, that was written by/for McCain in 1999, which explains a whole lot about his personality and character.
This media onslaught against his running-mate choice will just make him a stronger competitor between now and November.
“What are they doing to the back of Levi’s shirt?”
One of the daughters (standing behind Levi) is holding the baby. They are the baby’s feet (white socks), and she is holding a blue pacifier in her hand.
Looks like that to me after studying the other photos.
Just look at the brilliant smile on Bristol’s face, and the look of love in her father’s expression.
