Scarborough Takes Shot at Olbermann
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann began to poignantly patch things up two nights ago. But there's clearly still mucho trabajo to be done to heal the rift between Joe Scarborough and the temperamental Countdown host. Readers will recall that during the Dem convention, Olbermann was caught [accidentally on purpose?] on an open mic suggesting Scarborough "get a shovel" for his failure to toe a sufficiently pro-Obama line.

On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough took a thinly-veiled shot at Olbermann for the way he tried to keep Republican analyst Mike Murphy off the air, and then tried to pull the plug ["let's wrap him up, alright?"] when Murphy eventually made it into an interview with Chris Matthews.

Pat Buchanan was the sole voice on today's opening-hour panel to opine that Fred Thompson had done a good job with his speech last night. In contrast, Scarborough suggested Thompson had been flat. Pat expressed his feelings of alienation as the show was going to a break. It was then that Joe and Mika let Buchanan know that—in contrast with other MSNBC venues—dissident voices were welcome on Morning Joe.

I believe MSNBC may be run by homosexual radical liberals. The reason I say homosexual is that the only way Olberman could stay on the air is if he had serviced the higher ups and now has dirt on them. He's even pushing Mathews out. Olberman is not funny witty or even intelligent but he has even wormed his way into the NBC football programing.

I told my family this weekend that I thought God took Russert while he still had integrity.

The on air hosts on MSMBC seem to be less sane than many people INSIDE the mental insitutions.

Yeah. When the “Breaking News” banner flashes and the headline reads “how many houses does Sarah Palin add to the Republican ticket” just minutes after Sarah Palin is announced as the VP choice, you know that the news room has gone off the deep end. How unserious and childish can they be? Even Bill Mahr said that Mathews and Olberman acted like they wanted to have sex with Obama.

“I believe MSNBC may be run by homosexual radical liberals.”

Don’t you mean to say the MSM may be run by homosexual radical liberals?
The entire national media is now just cartoon time in America.

It is so sickening, granted that MSNBC is probably the queen bee of all the queers.

Yeah MSNBC is definitely the queen bee and Olberman is so bad that he must have some dirt and be willing to blow the whole network up. If Mathews is horrible what does that make Olberman?

That's true. Olbermann says the most outrageous things and thinks it's great, just like someone mentally disturbed. Especially his fixation on O'Reilly who he calls 'Billo'... Someone high up must love Olbermann to let him say stay there.

This is such a minor point. And a good question since John S. McCain didn't know how many houses he had. Silly for people get upset over this question. There are far more serious things wrong with the media. No mention of Mary Jo when Ted Kennedy spoke at the Dem. convention. Coverup of John Edwards’ affair. Lies about Sarah Palin faking pregnancy. False praise for the Clintons. Think back to the treatment given to Linda Tripp.

I agree but when the breaking news banner runs announcing McCain's VP pick and instead of reading “McCain chooses Alaska governor Sarah Palin” and instead reads “how many houses does Palin add to the VP ticket” shows what must be going on behind the scenes at NBC. They are not even pretending to take their craft seriously.

He doesn’t just talk about BillO, he tries to copy his voice int he most disturbing of ways.

I have done 1:1’s with psych patients who appeared more sane that that guy.

I told my family this weekend that I thought God took Russert while he still had integrity.

In that case, if I were Luke Russert I would be worried about offending God since MSNBC didn't waste any time hiring Tim's son.

In a perfect world, Keith Olbermann would be retired the same way Howard Beale was, and the ratings would skyrocket. LOL

I've also noticed over the last couple of days the lopsided reporting and video of convention protesters.

I remember very few reports from Denver but I've seen more Big Media stories on the protest this week, complete with video of law enforcement 'abusing' the poor anarchist.

Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann began to poignantly patch things up...

And in other news...dog bites mailman...sun rises in east...rain is forecast for somewhere...etc.

Why would any sane person care what these bozos do to one another?

They are both pimples on the butt of society.

Conservatives should give Olbermann the “Palin treatment” Send scores of newspeople to his home town to dig up dirt. Interview high school and college classmates, teachers and professors. Go through all the records to see what can be dredged up. In fact, why stop with him? Let’s do it to all of them! See how they like it...

You know, with MS|DNC|NBC’s ratings as low as they have historically always been, is there any way that network is still on the air 5 years from now?

When it finally gets euthanized, Olbermann will have no where to go but back to some sports desk (I’ll wager today it’ll be the obscure NFL network or a spinoff thereof).

Until then, I’ll keep doing my part, not watching him.
