Barack Obama has launched a broadside against John McCains opposition to abortion rights and moved one of the most divisive issues in modern American politics to the airwaves on a large scale for the first time in this presidential campaign. Barack Obama voted against a bill that would have protected infants born alive having survived an abortion attempt," said Diaz. "He has offered misleading statements on the issue and is now trying to confuse voters by attacking Senator McCain."

Hussein just opened up a big ol’ nasty can of worms.
McCain & Co. now should take him to task nationally over the Born Alive act—the LameStream Media certainly won’t mention that aspect of their Messiah.
I agree. He’s basically telling America he thinks Bristol should have gotten an abortion.
The timing of his ad was unfortunate for him but fortunate for us.
Then we don’t need those three votes.
Anecdotal information is not political strategy.
With the Palin brouhaha this abortion ad of Hussein’s is an ad for Republicans. The single issue rabid babykilling crowd is a finite constituency on the left that is locked up for Hussein anyway and the horror at what is being thrown at Palin is accentuated by the new ads among the “moderates” who have not yet chosen sides, even pro-choice moderates. The Bolshies would fare far better had they left Mrs. Palin and her family alone and not publicized those things that make her a highly sympathetic figure to Middle Americans of normally Democrat sympathies. Now if McCain lays low and talks mostly about the war and Russia ans lets Mrs. Palin handle the rest of it the Bolsheviks will turn this into a contest between Hussein and Sarah Palin. The Republicans will win that one going away. One downside of Palin’s advent is that the left is not running against Bush any more. But that is only a tiny downside as against a mountain that is almost all one-way upside.
That is a great bumper sticker, if a tad too long, a billboard maybe- a whole lot of billboards.
Republicans need to push that hard. They won't. Republicans still mostly accept the Democrats' Rules for Republican Campaigning.
Senator Bob Casey Jr., the Catholic Pro Abortion supporter of Obama is supported by Bishops James Clifford Timlin and Martino of Diocese of Scranton!
Does that mean that the Diocese of Scranton now supports abortion?
Good! I hope Barry Hussein pursues that line in prime time in every major and minor market in the country!!!!!
The US has one of the most liberal abortion law in the world. When the SCOTUS maintains that a ‘fetus’ is part of woman’s body as long as ‘it’ is attached to the woman’s body, then there is no difference between 2 weeks or 9 months pregnancy. There’s no wiggle room at all there.
Overtourning Roe vs. Wade would most likely mean that the issue would be given back to the states as other murder and medical issues are. It is VERY unlikely that SCOTUS would suddenly rule that all abotions everywhere were unconstitutional (as pro-aborts want people to believe.)
They are not, are not feeling that the democrats are supporting a Pro-Choice position. These ladies very much felt that Bristol and her family had/have a CHOICE. Bristol chose to keep her baby and her family happily will support her decision. And ya’ know what? They felt they should support Bristol too.
That said, I am in Ohio and I heard that ad on the radio last night driving home from work. I was stunned at the audacity of the Obama campaign to release such an advertisement given the current media feeding frenzy. Given he wouldn't “punish his daughters with a baby” and “it is above his paygrade.” I viewed the ad as a direct attack on family values.
I wonder if he understands that for some families a challenge like Bristols is met with courage, faith, and love.
Last night's convention had a segment about McCain's wife, their adopted child and the children they've helped. That segment had me admiring the McCains and the Palins. They have similar family values. Supporting and loving, not killing, children born into challenging situations.
What a stark difference to Obama’s personal views about children.
Why won’t some one point out that the repeal of Roe just puts the decisions for it back in the hands of the states? It will not end abortions, just the role of the federal gov’t in them.
It’s usually very good to get a candidate to “defend” themselves in this manner; state your name, restate the allegation, and then refute the allegation.
A very high proportion of viewers will later recall the ad as “Obama is for all sorts of abortion” even if he’s saying “I am not for all sorts of abortion.”
Like getting a guy to say he’s not a Muslim - I didn’t like that line of attack but it did work, assuming that the goal was to get people to believe he is a Muslim.
That sadistically non-threatening phrase “our right to choose” makes me want to vomit a week’s worth of lunches.
BAIPA = Born Alive Infant Protection Act
Somehow I do not think abortion is as polarizing of an issue for pro-choicers as it is for pro lifers. Having done various pro-life exhibits, I find that apart from the überfeminists (who could not be reasoned with in the first place) most of the pro-choicers give the “i’m against people having abortions, I just don’t want to tell them what to do” rationale. Obama may be counting on reaching a larger demographic of pro-choice persons in certain areas, but I’m willing to bet that more pro-lifers will switch to McCain because he’s pro-life than pro-choicers will switch to Obama because he’s pro-choice.
It would be kind of funny to take his add and re-use it unmodified to generate votes for the McCain-Palin ticket. ;)
Anyway, I really hate this Orwellian abuse of the language by the left, and say we should make a point of fighting it. It’s bad enough that lefty papers everywhere are replacing “pro-life” with “anti-abortion” for the benefit of having it negatively phrased. But it doesn’t even make sense to call it “abortion rights.” The political question is *whether* abortion is a right. If they are going to be that self-serving they should be forced to admit that they have already pronounced their opinion on the issue—not passing themselves off for an unbiased news source.
Put it on CafePress or give it to LibertyRocks to do so.
Cheers!
Obama, the dead baby candidate.
No.
It's a worn out excuse.
Have an ad showing how Obama LOVES infanticide.
Take the GLOVES OFF.
