Betting on a Palin withdrawal [More Liberal PDS Hysteria]

An online prediction market weighs in on whether VP candidate Sarah Palin will be dropped from the Republican ticket.

NEW YORK (Fortune) -- Now the Democrats aren't the only ones who can try to capitalize on the negative buzz growing around Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the prospective Republican VP candidate.

Intrade, an online prediction market based in Dublin, created a contract Tuesday morning on the likelihood that John McCain will drop Palin as his running mate. After opening at a probability of just 3%, the odds on Palin being cut from the ticket climbed to 18% around 9 a.m. and have since settled at around 12%.

Intrade is a place for betting enthusiasts to turn a small profit on everything from the latest auction of works by controversial British artist Damien Hirst to Britney Spears' chances of landing in rehab. Contracts on a possible future event are bought and sold by users of the site, like a stock on the NYSE.

This is getting ridiculouser and ridiculouser. Reminds me of that movie "The Contender" with the liberals & conservatives reversed.

If McCain dumps Palin, he deserves to lose... and then we all lose.

my e-mail today 9-2-08

Dear Supporter,

Last Friday, our campaign was proud to welcome Governor Sarah Palin to the ticket as John McCain’s running mate. Over the past few days, the campaign has received an outpouring of support in the form of record-breaking donations and crowds of supporters who have packed rallies in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Missouri.

Tomorrow night, Governor Palin will officially accept the nomination to be the first female Republican Vice Presidential candidate in history. And today, we’re giving you the opportunity to get to know Governor Palin a little better through an exclusive video you can watch by following this link.

Watch the Video: “Introducing Governor Sarah Palin”

After watching the video, we encourage you to pass this email along to your friends, family, neighbors and colleagues.

We know everyone is anticipating John McCain and Governor Palin’s speeches at the Republican National Convention later this week. We hope you’ll take the time tonight to watch the following speakers during tonight’s convention prime-time program.

President Bush will deliver remarks via satellite. Mrs. Laura Bush, Senators Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman and many others will also speak. We encourage you to tune in tonight between the hours of 8:30 to 10:00 CST.

Sincerely,
The McCain Campaign

Not going to happen.

The more the MSM and other DNC pundits instigate these tactics against the Palin's, the more the public will be made aware of them, check them out for themselves, and then be drawn to the Palin's side.

...and the worse and worse it will reflect on the instigators who are digging their own political graves.

“If McCain dumps Palin, he deserves to lose... and then we all lose.”

No such plans. Levi's on his way. Short that contract.

.... and that was just from bids placed from the CNN newsroom.

Morons. Elections are not decided on who the Vice Presidnet is. Bush won with Quayle. Clinton won with algore. IMO, This election will be decided on mainly one thing...the Presidential debates between John McCain and Barack Obama.

I love the way that CNN helps create an imaginary sense of crisis - over nothing....then reports on the odds of the imaginary crisis coming to fruition.

These people are simply masturbating their hate and self-importance. It's kind of gross.

Agreed, Palin gets dumped and I resign myself to my 4 years in the wilderness. I am not sure I could even vote for him if he did that and I was gonna be part of Ann Coulter’s Drunk to vote for McCain team.

Wishful thinking by CNN; another shameless display of partisanship and journalistic prostitution. The only way McCain could seal this election for Obama would be to abandon Palin. If it happens, I’ll have gone from a ‘hold my nose and vote for McCain’ supporter, to ardent McCain supporter, to Barr supporter.

‘Growing negative buzz’ - well who created it and fed it in the first place?

CNN have lost their way and for some reason they think emulating the 3rd place net (MSNBC) is smarter than emulating the 1st place net (FOX).

If the DEMS and the MSM thought Palin was a bad pick for McCain, they wouldn’t want him to drop her.

The fact that they are talking about it, tells you how afraid of her they are.

I know enough of McCain and Palin to know they are not quitters. In fact, this will just get them more fired up.

Wait until Palin is unleashed after the convention. She is going to be out there every day, tearing up Obamba/Biden. And the media will be forced to cover her.

Great pick McCain. Obama is going to loose on November 4th of that I am sure.

It is not going to happen. She is too way to tough to quit and McCain stayed loyal to his team under way tougher circumstances than this.
