AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) Maine motorists are paying more to register their vehicles with the state.
As of Monday, fees increased by $10 for vehicle registrations, vanity license plates and titles.
Don Cookson of the Secretary of States Office said the added fees would generate revenue to support bridge and road maintenance.

I’m sure its still wayyyyyyy cheaper than Kansas. I just retagged my 10 year old Dodge Ram and my 2 year old Saturn Vue to the tune of $400 for the next year. Bastards.
Trade ya—when I bought my Jeep in April of this year, they were nice enough to prorate it for me until my next birthday in July of 2009. $680 for the town, another $120 for the state—for 15 months, for ONE car.
Good Grief. I think it costs about 26 dollars in Arkansas. I feel your pain.
