Former Democrat national chairman Don Fowler admitted to ABC News that he rejoiced at the prospect of Hurricane Gustav hitting New Orleans during the Republican National Convention.
"The hurricane's going to hit New Orleans about the time they (the GOP) start. The timing is -- at least it appears now that it'll be there Monday. That just demonstrates that God's on our side. [Laughter] Everything's cool."
In customary Leftist fashion, Fowler half-way apologized when he was caught on tape.
"If this offended anybody, I personally apologize," Fowler told ABC News. "It was a mistake, and it was a satirical statement made in jest. And one that I clearly don't believe ... One doesn't anticipate that one's private conversation will be surreptitiously taped by some right-wing nutcase," said Fowler. "But that's the nature of what we're dealing with."

These people are simply inhuman. Only the soulless wish for disasters and suffering to further their cause.
Neoliberalism is truly a mental disorder.
Pat Robertson once “prayed” for a hurricane to miss Virginia Beach and strike somewhere further north.
At the time, I thought it interesting that he didn’t simply “pray” it out to sea.
McCain in his speech Thursday night should say something to the effect that “we are grateful that our prayers have been answered and Gustav did not result in serious losses for New Orleans and its surroundings. Things could have been much worse. We must conclude that Michael Moore and Don Fowler were correct, although perhaps not in the sense they intended, and we say:
Yes,indeed, there is a God.”
But that's not an apology ~ he should find a bed of broken glass, remove his britches, and start crawling. I'll tell him when he can get up.
And now I must correct myself.
He DID “pray” dor it to get away from Va. Beach and to where it could “do no harm”.
My apologies to the reverend.
It seems I was mixing this incident with an instance in which he said he had received a revelation from God that Her was going to visit the east coast with a Tsunami as a “judgement” on us. In that case, Va. Beach (Mr. Robertson’s headquarters), was apparently to be spared.
Sorry.
“...HE was going to visit...”
Don, when Ray Nagin handles himself with more competence and class than you, that’s not good.
All collectivists, historically, from Stalin to Hitler to Pol Pot to the “American” left,
are the worst sort of pragmatists.
It doesn’t matter what it takes, as long as their goals are achieved. And those goals include total control of your lives.
