The Dutch intelligence service, the AIVD, has called off an operation aimed at infiltrating and sabotaging Iran's weapons industry due to an assessment that a US attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program is imminent, according to a report in the country's De Telegraaf newspaper on Friday.
The report claimed that the Dutch operation had been "extremely successful," and had been stopped because the US military was planning to hit targets that were "connected with the Dutch espionage action."
The impending air-strike on Iran was to be carried out by unmanned aircraft "within weeks," the report claimed, quoting "well placed" sources.
The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the De Telegraaf report.
According to the report, information gleaned from the AIVD's operation in Iran has provided several of the targets that are to be attacked in the strike, including "parts for missiles and launching equipment."

Like the Dutch were going to do this on their own for the good of mankind.
This sounds like the same claim made awhile back echoing around in the media echo chamber.
Somehow I doubt the Dutch being that much involved in human-ops espionage.
Hmmmm.......
"The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the De Telegraaf report."
Unlikely.
The Israelis have determined officially, as I understand it, to deny Tehran the ability to hold a nuke gun to their heads.
It would for them, of course, be a difficult operation almost certain to be incomplete and expensive. The likelihood of an overt American assistance is unlikely this close to the election. But the Israelis, pouncing on their own, to bring international uncertainty into the American political election is more likely than Al Q. trying to “Madrid” the American election.
Such a move would back fire here for that crowd, ending with the opposite effect for AQ, before Nov. 4 and Jan 20.
Not so the Israelis. But that too is uncertain.
Meanwhile, I doubt seriously the U.S. would do little other than bulk up defenses of our troops on the ground in Iraq, who become “fair game” in such a scenario, in the eyes of the Mullahs (in their own election cycle). If we are perceived as offensive, it will give the Left too much rationalization for their near-mental breakdown already underway.
This smells like disinformation.
The Dutch? The Dutch couldn't organize a small bowl of assorted jelly beans. The most the Dutch are going to do is commit collective suicide, for which they're uniquely qualified.
LOL

Dutch intelligence? I am under awed.
LOL!
Whose?
It certainly serves Israel's purposes. Makes the Iranians suspicious of Europeans and makes them "tighten security" which lowers productivity.
Tomahawk cruise missiles, perhaps....
I'd include a few mosques in the mix as well as Amadingynutjob's residence....
Oh, goody...it’s the latest “U.S. is going to strike Iran” rumor. ;-)
I guess if you say it every week, it may one day come true. Then you can tell everyone, "I told you so".
I first saw this on FR citing the Iranian press agency. The Dutch outlet probably just picked it up from them.
