Hungry for red meat? Pete Wilson (ex R Gov of CA) delivers!

"The audacity - it's a word that's somewhat in vogue now, along with 'change' and 'hope' and 'unity' - the audacity that Barack Obama is offering to us and to our children, the change that he is offering ... quite frankly, is socialism," Wilson told the breakfast crowd. Individual judgment is to be replaced with central planning. Taxes will skyrocket, and money will be taken from people who work for a living and given to people who don't.
"One thing we know for certain is that Barack Obama is going to have a massive tax increase were he elected president," Wilson said. "He would roll back the break of capital gains to discourage investment and job creation."
....
The biggest cheers of the morning came whenever the name of soon-to-be vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin was mentioned. Most interesting line abut Palin came from state party chairman Ron Nehring:
"I think we have found America's Margaret Thatcher."

This is NOT about Pete Wilson he is NOT running for office.
He was mentioned in the article, I'll attack him or any other jacksass who is a threat to conservativism.
Its about McCain/Palin vs. Obama/Biden.
False choices.
Alan Keyes, unless McCain is no longer the presidential candidate. Then I'll reconsider the (R) choice. Palin is the only decent person of the two major tickets offered.
Are you proposing voting for Obama, just because Pete Wilson is against him?
Don't be absurd. I despise Obama and his ilk. But of course those stuck in the two-party mentality will often make those ludicrous charges.

Pete Wilson was way ahead of the curve on illegal immigration. That’s understandable, as he is a former mayor of San Diego. He also led the charge against racial quotas in state jobs and college admissions. He is pro-choice, but he did some good while governor. Ahnold, OTOH, is a complete disaster.

In other words you want to hand over the US to Obama. I figured as much from your posts.
“However noble their intentions, conservatives who do not vote for John McCain will be morally complicit in what happens to America during an Obama presidency.” — Dennis Prager
“I am now committed to doing everything I can within my power to get John McCain elected,” Mr. Scarborough said, “because I am 100 percent committed to seeing that Barack Obama is not elected.”

While you are right about good ol' Pete with regards to Prop 187 and racial quotas, you really need to re-read post 12 on this thread.
Pete is a RINO of the highest order just below Arnold.

I don’t care what the socialist self centered jerk said!
I spent 18 years fighting with him on the RSCC from the time he was an Assemblyman.
He has never done anything in his life that wasn’t for the benifit of Pete Wilson!

Looks like some of you are more interested in attacking Pete Wilson, than in defeating Obama.

"Pete Wilson is a RINO who hates fiscally responsible conservatives."
Even so, he was unafraid to go to fisticuffs with the legislature and unions, unlike the emasculated girly-man uber-RINO we have now.

Wow!
Bookmarked.
I had heard that Pete Wilson was suspect, but I had no idea he was a complete p.o.s.
I thought it was good riddance to that scumbag. I wonder why he’s surfaced now?
To: dragnet2
He didn’t try to. He backed two props that would have California conservatives drooling all over themselves if it occurred in present time. How soon they forget. Props 187 and 189 could have paved the way.

Can't be said enough:
Wilson told the breakfast crowd. (the change Obama promises) quite frankly,
1.is socialism
2. Individual judgment is to be replaced with central planning.
3. Taxes will skyrocket
4. Money will be taken from people who work for a living and given to people who don't.
Let's save our country:

In other words you want to hand over the US to Obama. California Freepers endured similar, childish nonsense when the Austrian ran for office. The blindly loyal gibberish ended when the offending Republican partisans were ejected from this forum.
Sounds like more house cleaning is overdue.

I have an old clock like that; it doesn’t work anymore but it’s right twice each day, just like Wilson.

Couldn't agree with you more.
Management needs to dump the Party over conservative principle crowd post haste!
Seems they have forgotten what FreeRepublic is actually all about.
