The campaign of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., likes to herald the independence of its new running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.
And while McCain's motto -- as seen in a new TV ad -- is "Country First," the AIP's motto is the exact opposite -- "Alaska First -- Alaska Always."

Obama was a candidate for over a year before the press finally (and grudgingly) noticed his 20 year membership in a racist, anti-Semitic, anti-American hate church. It took several more months before they sorta, kinda acknowledged that he was friends with domestic terrorist William Ayers. They’re still trying their best to keep a lid on Obama’s ties to Tony Rezko.
But Palin’s been a candidate for all of three days and they’re working overtime to locate “controversial” associations, family problems, DUIs, or anything else of use to the left.
And they expect us to believe they aren’t biased.
Oh, and her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. GASP! Like THAT’s never happened to a family before!
I think Bill O’Reilly indicated that the daughter is going to marry the father. That’ll REALLY piss the libs off (abortion forsaken once more).

And when Obama was in his twenties he was smoking pot and snorting coke, but that’s not news. And Obama has how many questionable affiliations (Rezko, his ‘church’, Ayers, etc..)? But that’s not news either. And wasn’t Obama’s mamma questionably married to Obama’s daddy when Obama was conceived? But that’s not news.

Notice too, how they eschew any attempt at objectively-written reporting and engage ENTIRELY in framing the narrative—the biggest example being the mention of the “Country First” slogan and comparing it to what SOME in that party may have believed.

You’re right. Long ago, the right of succession was a topic of interest for decent, middle-of-the-road politicians. Since Lincoln expended 600,000 men proving succession is treason, a tenable theoretical position (just like the right of revolution, which is still barely with us) has turned into crankery fit only for racists.

Late Friday afternoon, someone posted an AOL poll with over 350,000 responses showing McCain/Palin at 63% and growing, and with the Electoral Votes from all 50 states. Obama only carried DC. The AOL customer base is left of center.
I believe the election day electoral votes for McCain/Palin will be all 50 states.

My cousin Dave had to deal with his daughter’s pregnancy as a HS senior. She married the dad of her baby, and is still married to him. They also had two more kids...
