Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.
And while McCain's motto -- as seen in a new TV ad -- is "Country First," the AIP's motto is the exact opposite -- "Alaska First -- Alaska Always."

One clown is claiming that all of this nonsense is just a massive Rovian plot and that Palin will step aside soon thus allowing the GOP to paint the Dems as sexist. Somebody else was convinced that Palin coming out now and saying that her 17 year old daughter is 5 months pregnant and couldn’t possibly be the Trig’s mom because he was born 4 months ago is just a smoke screen in order to hide the truth, that the daughter was actually Trig’s mother and that we should expect to hear soon that the daughter has had a miscarriage. I have NEVER in my life time seen such a complete and total suspension of rational behavior by a group of people, sick sick sick!
Hmmmm, for me it would be if she attended a racist church for 20 years, held close associations with communists, terrorists, and other anti-american groups, blackmailed her political opponents so they dropped out of the race, and claimed that her candidacy could stop the rising oceans.
