Sorry, I am really offended by the timing...looks like they are trying to sweep under the rug....Why not just be upfront about all of this when they introduced them to the world...

Obama’s wife and kids have been kept out of it by the press, at his request, except for when his wife opens her loud mouth and the press can’t ignore it. I don’t even know anything about Biden’s family, except that he tells the story (which he has embellished) about his first wife and kids being killed in a traffic accident.
I think it’s reasonable to expect Palin’s family to have the same privacy. The kids seem fine, the family is dealing with it the right way, and it’s a private matter.
For the same reason that (except for Gustav) this news has dominated the internet). It would have been a distraction off of Palin, the candidate and onto her daughter. There is a time for everything and that was not the time. The girl is not a criminal, she is carrying a baby.
And it is your right to be really offended about unimportant things.
What was she supposed to have done. While she was introducing them, say “and this is my daughter, Bristol, who is 17 and pregnant by the way”. That would have humiliated that poor girl. Might as well brand a scarlet letter in her forhead.
