I agree with all of you - for Bristol to have done this was wrong. It was immoral. She sinned.

I’m still asking what the correct response to this is for the mom and for her family?

By extension, what is the most moral response for McCain?

You mean... what WAS the moral response?

McCain already made the call. He knew the die was cast when he selected Palin.

The Palin family should have announced this news to the world last week. Then the political decisions could have been made in an open and honest manner. Too late to do anything about this now. But McCain loses credibility in my eyes for operating in such a low-handed manner.

Well. Despite the support around here for teen pregnancy, I would think McCain has a duty to remind people what a huge problem this is.

But that is not the issue. The issue is McCain’s decision making ability. He always makes decisions where the outcome is predictably not what is intended. The true jab Obama made is that McCain does not know. Look at his expected results from McCain-finegold. McCain-Kennedy and McCain-Lieberman. All will have the opposite effects from what is intended.
