And who are you to make that judgment for the Palin family? No one, that's who. If one of your young gets pregnant then feel free to shame the girl into giving the baby up. After all, YOU DO know what is best for everyone else.
OK.
Ah, Chesterton.
I think the left with that stupid rumor forced her hand and she had to announce it to shut them up. Thats a shame, too, because she didn’t owe the public anything. This was between her family. The person who said we are a nation of voyuers was right. We think we are supposed to be told every single personal detail of our leaders lives. Unless there has been a crime committed that would affect the office they hold or seek, we should stop this demanding to know personal things about their lives. It didn’t used to be that way. 24/7 cable news and their sensationalism is a lot to blame.
The only concern I have is that she graduated from school, or if she hasn’t that she does. (There’s an Obama aid on TV right now claiming the Obama campaign has nothing to do with all the nasty rumors suddenly being generated by his disciples; also said the Obama family has done a “beautiful job” of creating a boundary around their personal family decisions, implying Palin has not)
It’s called a pump.
Do you really think that a mother of five is not capable of handling what is, in th end, a minor problem? You don't have many kids, do you?
Well said, sir!
I guess McCain figured if America would accept an illigetimate left wing Marxist with a dubious background for a spot on top of the ticket, they would accept a decent woman with a pregnant teen daughter for the #2 spot.
/:) They're also not all that effective. I got pregnant with my third child due to a faulty condom.
Bless you, Honey. Your post made more sense than all the handwringers in here and brought tears to my eyes. Of course you are right.
Has anyone noticed that Louisiana was totally unprepared for Katrina under Democrat Governor Blanco, but was extremely well prepared for Gustav under Republican Governor Bobby Jindahl? Just as Mississippi and Florida have been well prepared for hurricanes under Republican Governors.
Cool. Tough young man.
" 'We don't want to talk about this, said a woman who answered the phone at the Johnston home."
Good. It's nobody's business except that of the families.
"On a MySpace page subsequently taken down, Johnston boasts, 'I'm a f - - -in' redneck' who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes."
Looks like he described himself that way, and the Post just quoted it. Nothing wrong with being a redneck, either. I like rednecks. I like rednecks so much I married one. And my girls apparently feel the same way.
“Even if the media could control themselves (HAH!!!) there is very little chance they will be able to focus on Palins ability to be VP, and not drool and put the most horrendous, salacious spin on this whole thing.”
So we are supposed to choose our leaders based on how the media might treat them?
No. It is time for everyone to see the media for exactly what it is, and this situation, in which they clearly, just CANNOT help themselves, does just that. It makes ME crazy angry, but I just have to keep reminding myself how stunningly partisan they are showing themselves to be, and to continue sending my money and my support to Senator McCain, and Gov. Palin.
We all would do well to do the same, unless of course, we are ready to have the media choose OUR leadership.
Tatt
You DO know that you could get an 8-week limit RIGHT NOW, don't you?
You also know that outlawing the abortion of morulas and zygotes will never happen, right?
I think his point was just that the best is often the enemy of the good, which is usually true.
That was simple minded.
Breast pump.
Bottle.
Use breast pump. Put breast milk into bottle.
I used them. Both daughters and daughter in law have used them.
End of problem.
You are spot on and 40 years ago this wouldn’t have been a problem because candidates kept their spouses and children out of the limelight. Now the media and public expect candidates to parade their families in front of the public.
I reckon that he described himself as a redneck, nothing wrong with that. But the headline “f****g redneck” was no doubt meant to put him into a negative light. If he had been African-American and described himself as a “n-word” (like many African-Americans call each other “endearing”, like Whoopi and Oprah put it), I doubt they would have put it next to his picture.
Thats true and Cheneys daughter was artificially inseminated and gave birth to a child a year or 2 ago who is being raised by 2 lesbians.
