Excellent statement by Dr. Dobson and Focus on the Family. That is exactly how I feel about the situation. While Bristol clearly made a mistake her parents are doing exactly the right thing in supporting her and she is doing the right thing in having the baby and getting married.

Does this somehow make her skills and accomplishments go away?

Did I say ANYTHING about her accomplishments?

The only thing that will go away is time.....time she'll spend answering questions about this & NOT talking about the issues. There's just over 2 months before the election.

Understand?

Otherwise go away and beat your Serbian drum.

Good grief, you're an idiot.

Would you rather that teenage mothers aborted their children? Because that is exactly what continually hounding them over their mistakes will lead too.

If you ever have children whom you actually rasie to adulthood, you may perhaps realize how utterly stoooopid your slur is: “... And if Sarah and Todd spent more time with the girls.” I’m so glad people like you are being exposed at FR through your own foolish comments.

RE: “I just checked out DU to see what the initial response is. (They call it Faux news - geddit?) So far they are sort of blinking in confusion as they realize their Trig story just evaporated.”

Yes, the “Trig” story should be history. Pity for the “left,” as they thought they had something there — this teen pregnancy is just a common family issue — muxh more common than many think since there are so many abortions these days. Even birth control isn’t foolproof anyway == there are no 100% guarantees.

“So, if you if McCain was already a no-go for you what is the big deal about this?”

I was thinking McCain picking Palin made a good choice - the best choice. I really do not want to see Obama in the WH, but McCain is so distasteful.

Raising kids is more important than being VP. Obviously the Palin’s need to get closer to the kids.

McCain should have seen this...if he did...he is dense. This is going to be a tough campaign and needs to be close to error free.

“offspring of a 17-year-old, was a small government conservative Republican, I’d vote for him and come down hard on fellow Republicans who rejected him because of the circumstances of his birth.”

Well, as the offspring of a 17-year old unwed mother and a Republican, I’m glad to know that if I ever run for office, I can count on your vote! ;0)

"Open your eyes"

I have read every single post and I stand by my comment. You are hellbent at burning Palin and her daughter at the stake.

Despite what creationists believe, maybe Darwin was right. I have my flame proof suit on and can take the heat.

Perhaps it was a good thing that some people (read....liberals, leftists, abortion lovers...took their names out of the gene pool).

The logic behind survival of the fittest becomes more clear by the day.

No, it is easily solved. Sarah Palin responds that this is a family matter and there will be no further questions answered about it. Period.

You should vote for Obama. He's promising Utopia.

Sarah Palin is simply going to be too distracted with her own life to take on potentially helming the most powerful nation in the world... a very real possibility given McCain’s age and health problems.

Here's my counter point. She's already a chief executive. She's running the state of Alaska, one of the most important states in the union with the energy issues today. Being the VP is an easier job, almost completely ceremonial outside of on the job training if McCain can no longer continue as president.

And this idiocy is revealing of your inattention or your stealth agenda: “I also reject the moral equivalence of comparing this to BO.” ... Are yo aware that BO equated a baby in an unmarried or married daughter’s belly as punishment? Are you aware of how hard Obama worked to keep legal the despicable method for killing alive unborn children which relied upon death by neglect through forced delivery of preemies then leaving them to struugle and eventually die from inattention? I doubt, based upon your idiotic posts, that you are aware of the particulars on BHO or that you are actually are a conservative.

I would be happier if the child was being put up for adoption to two adults in a stable happy marriage.

There's been a lot of "out there" statements on this thread, but this one takes the cake.
