ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

I consider myself a Conservative. Many of my friends consider me a rabid, foaming at the mouth Conservative. I do not condemn Bristol for getting pregnant. I praise her for keeping the baby and getting married to the father
I am a conservative, not a Pharisee.
Are you honestly suggesting that a 16 or 17 year old who has only had abstinence education DOES NOT understand the potential consequences of sex?
Yours? Are you so perfect that you would vote against this woman for that reason? Or does it reflect poorly on McCain that he didn't choose a RINO instead?
So, you celebrate unwed teen pregnancies.
Gotcha!
If unmarried sex is wrong, how can its undeniable consequence be not necessarily wrong?
My seventeen yr old grandaughter is pregnant, too. We just found out. She is an only child. She had a very good upbringing by very good and loving parents and extended family. She is a decent girl, very mature and kind and gentle. She and her boyfriend chose not to get married right now. She has 1 more yr of HS and she has already filled out her papers for college. Her boyfriend is very supportive financially and emotionally. They are going to be ok.
Thank you, Centy. I appreciate that.
Sarah knows about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska, right next door to Russia. [/steve doocy]
“By extension, what is the most moral response for McCain?”
Well. Despite the support around here for teen pregnancy, I would think McCain has a duty to remind people what a huge problem this is.
But that is not the issue. The issue is McCain’s decision making ability. He always makes decisions where the outcome is predictably not what is intended. The true jab Obama made is that McCain does not know. Look at his expected results from McCain-finegold. McCain-Kennedy and McCain-Lieberman. All will have the opposite effects from what is intended.
How can the conception and birth of any human being be wrong?
You're making a pro-abortion argument.
Because a baby is a human life, a Gift from God and therefore CANNOT be wrong.
Uh, actually, research shows that sex ed. INCREASES sexual activity.
Nice dream, though.
Great too see you sweetheart. I miss you all. I will keep in touch from now on. Work doe’s not let me FReep.
LOL! You just know these pearl-clutchers would have tossed Joseph and Mary out of the barn.
Sarah would be VP (a job with light duties) not Pres. And Sarah is not a single mom. Her husband Todd would be taking a large role in being primary parent while Sarah is doing govt work.
No, the time is now
Which remarks were over the top, out of line, or dead wrong? You have neither responded to nor refuted anything I wrote. Your hateful cabal on this thread seams to be avoiding any real dialog about the true issues in this situation. I am beginning to think that this is less about Bristol's unfortunate pregnancy and more about a bunch of disaffected Ronpaulians, Romneyites, and Obamanics hurting the McCain campaign.
People shouldn't be celebrating unwed teen pregnancies.
I am certainly not celebrating any unwed teen pregnancy, but I am supporting Bristol and the Palin family's intentions to do the right thing in a tough situation.
Especially not traditional conservatives.
That is interesting. These baseless attacks on the Palin family don't seem to be coming from the traditional conservatives...
It will cost McCain votes on election. No doubt about it.
I am fairly certain that none of the "righteously offended" on this thread ever intended to vote for McCain in this election, their phony tag-lines notwithstanding.
You asked me to look to my own house.
I posted not only what’s in my house, but what’s in the houses of my siblings (who should reasonably be expected to have shared my upbringing) and our parents (who provided said upbringing).
If you don’t want the answer, don’t ask the question.
