That collection of photos also gave us (me, anyway) our first look at Track, the eldest boy who's now in the Army.
Why am I not surprised that he looks like a prototypical All American Boy?
None of the people in this family ever get caught in a bad photo, do they? LOL.
The Dems have GOT to be soiling their pants.

The quality of the photos at adn.com is pretty lousy.
For instance, here is the adn.com version of the "Grizzly Bear/King Crab" picture:
And here's the NY Times version of the same photo:
Actually, now that I've seen them side by side, I take that back - the quality of the photos at adn.com isn't "pretty lousy" - it's atrocious.

Looks to me that this woman will finally bring some class back to Washington. Not that Laura isn’t classy but I think you all know what I mean.

The caption says this is her office.
She does have a sense of humor with her decor.

I think she’ll be perfect for confronting Congress. After all, she’s used to large groups of children demanding attention.

Notice how some men and women just get better looking as they age? I think it has to do with how content they are in life. Which is why most conservative men and women age with grace (note, I said conservative and not Republican :) ), while angry liberals tend to get angrier and uglier with age. Their best days are always behind them, while ours is always ahead of us.
My wife looks better to me today than she did when I first met her. Those who embrace motherhood and fatherhood for that matter also end up looking more radiant. I think Governor Palin and her husband are testaments to this.

In my large circle of Republican friends there is still one that is not happy with the Palin Pick. Of course he is Mormon and wanted Mitt. I hope by the end of the long weekend he gets caught up in the excitement and changes his mind. Mitt would of been “just OK”, but there is no way he would of created as much excitement in the base as Sarah has, and there is no way that a new generations of Reagan Democrats, the PUMA’s would of crossed over.

It could be that the ones at adn are posted raw from the source material (wherever those came from). If you look at the NY Times versions, it looks like someone ran a levels or curves tool in Photoshop to add some contrast to the picture and reduce some highlights.

Drop Dead Gorgeous — inside and out. Thanks for the pic.
Oldest son, Track
From an article Sept. 19, 2007 in the Anchorage Daily News:
"Track Palin joins Wasilla High classmate John Bates at Fort Benning. The Palin family threw the teens a party on Sunday evening. Palin said the party was not a farewell, but a thank you for the young men's commitment to serve.
"We want the boys to know that we support them and we've got their backs," Palin said."

I was thinking the opposite - that maybe the ADN thinks that they can make some money selling high resolution versions of some of the photos in their library [the way that Getty Images does], and that they purposely released these compacted, blurry versions to try to bait people into purchasing the better versions of them.
Either that, or else there was an Obamamaniac on the ADN staff who was responsible for putting together this photo gallery, and he [or she] took it upon himself to degrade the quality of the photos that he posted.
