I agree with you. The Internet is “flat” in that anyone with an opinion can and does publish; furthermore, young and inexperienced users mistake “being published” with “being true”. Thus, if it's said often enough, a story takes on a life of its own, be it urban legend or Big Lie. Colmes was counting on this. It is a despicable act. My wife is furious over it.
