Wow, right on the money. The author gets it exactly right! I love the last paragraph!

"The partisan rhetoric aside, I would much rather be governed by a self-made success story living the American dream with the independent and freedom-loving values of rural Alaska than by someone who is the product of the corrupt Chicago, inner city political machine. One wants you to control your life, and the other wants to control your life for you. You’ll hear a lot about “experience” in this election but just as important is the concept of freedom, common sense, morals and values. The winner of that debate is clear."

“McCains vice presidential selection is more experienced and more qualified for the presidency than the Democratic nominee himself.”

Hell, half the Freepers here are more qualified than Obama.

Why do you think he picked ‘President’(sarc) biden for his running mate?

Someone had to prop him up!

But yes, Sarah ‘barracuda’ Palin is eminently qualified to be Vice President.

I’d prefer she got a couple of years on the job training before taking charge. The world is a dangerous place and there’s a lot for her to learn in very little time.

The photo-shoppers are hard at work I'm sure. And even if not, the 80’s were the miniskirt years and bikinis are not shocking at all, if that's what the libs are going for in attacking her.

Yep, I got one pulled from a thread the other day here. At least in that case (a black leather mini, and shirt that was unbuttoned) you could tell by the shadow on the cabinets behind the figure that it wasn’t her. But, some people wouldn’t assume that.

It’s disgraceful. Reminds me of what Putin did to his opponents as well - these commies are all the same. [In Putin’s case it was the same thing that some artist did to Mayor Harold Washington in Chicago - Putin made huge posters of them in women’s lingerie].

While it’s never pleasant it is something that women in politics (and in other fields) have been taught to expect due to experience. Every woman after a long enough time in the public arena will run across attitudes like this, and in today’s day and age of the internet in Politics it takes some pretty nasty turns. It’s sad, but true. It’s not like men don’t go through other horrible stuff, but this is how women are attacked. This is another reason why Sarah’s success is so important to myself, and my fellow conservative women and girls. I now my daughter is psyched up too! She wants to vote her for President in 2012 or 2016! LOL (she’s not old enough to vote now).

It reminds me of when someone pushed around that photo that supposedly showed Michelle Malkin in a bikini.

I was on DU back on Friday and the amount of venomous “anti-woman” attitude was seriously palpable. I’m seriously still recovering. It was a poisonous atmosphere there, literally. The PUMAs are not joking around when they say there is a serious problem with feminists and sexism in the DNC & throughout the Democrap Party. The only good thing I could see while I was there can be summed up like this;

1.) On one thread someone brought up how Todd Palin’s eyes were blue. The person had the nerve to say that therefore, he must not be a “real Native-American”. A person claiming to be an “Indian (his term)” responded in a not-so-nice tone informing this person that there were indeed Native Americans with blue eyes. The original poster then wrote back saying, “Well, then he must not have a good heart”, citing the evidence as “since he is Republican” [Todd is registered as an Independent (no party)]. The “Indian” poster wrote back and was not please at all. He went on to explain that there are Native Americans of all different political ideologies and that he should stop spreading stereotypes.

2.) There was another thread that was equally, if not more, disgusting and perfectly illustrated the PUMAs most vocalized complaint regarding the DNC and it’s supporters and activists - sexism. The thread included numerous slanderous allegations towards Palin’s teenage daughter using a VERY derogatory term, it included remarks about how she should just “stay home” with her kids, how she isn’t really for “women’s rights”. Other threads and comments in various threads at DU said things like, “McCain only picked her because she is female”, and various comments along that theme. Another alleged that McCain was going to make her his mistress. I mean really crude, horrible things. In most cases these comments were met with hostile responses charging that they should be ashamed and that the remarks were rude.

Perhaps the interchange that sticks with me the most? It’s got to be the following:

A poster at Democratic Underground (otherwise known as a DUmmie), had posted that (paraphrased), “Our women aren’t stupid enough to vote for a woman just becauase she is a woman”. One female posted back the following (again paraphrased), “Surely you don’t mean OUR women. You don’t OWN WOMEN. We think for ourselves. You don’t speak for ME!!!”. It was not pretty... But it just goes to show that the more they harp on these sexist comments they are just going to alienate more and more of their base.

** As a point of fact, Todd Palin, and the eldest Palin son, Track, are registered as “Independents” (I don’t think that’s an actually party as it is in some states, just a “no party”-type designation, someone please correct me if I’m wrong).

I believe that their hate will turn physical this time.

That's why it's important to be trained properly in the use of firearms.

All I know is Chuck Norris wishes he was Sarah Palin trapped in a man’s body.

That's ridiculous. There is no trap that can hold Sarah Palin.

Considering she has a strong faith, is from a small town, and had her eyes on a career as a journalist I’d bet you won’t ever find her in the things these people are using.

As you said, the 80s were the mini-skirt years, and I wore a LOT of them myself (just ask my husband, LOL). I don’t know what girls that went to High School & College in the 80s that didn’t have at least one mini-skirt to tell you the truth. But, remember these were not “micro-minis” either, like they are nowadays. (My 4 daughters even say that today’s “minis” shouldn’t even be called skirts and should be sold as lingerie! LOL)

For the most part though it’s Sarah’s own character that makes these types of attacks fail in the long run. The majority of people aren’t that gullible, and when people get to know her they will know that she doesn’t behave in that manner at all.

One other good thing — it gets female activists like me riled up! ;-)

The reason they are doing this? They are trying to make the “religious right” disillusioned with her which is ridiculous because those people aren’t stupid. And, then it’s a way for them to try to wear her down. It makes you feel gross when people make you out to look like someone with loose morals especially when you are someone who takes pride in living by good morals. Regardless, it’s due to those good morals, and her faith that I think Sarah will make it through this “just fine”. :) All, JMHO. :)

Agreed.

Women's militia ... there's a campaign slogan in there somewhere.

I unfortunately think you are right. Obama’s friends are NOT peaceful people no matter how many times they say the opposite.

So true. This is all going to backfire on the libs. And I join you in being a reformed 80’s miniskirter lol :). You are right the skirts were modest compared to today (my dad would have never let me leave the house in what they wear today). Also, I’m a Christian now and thank God that people don’t look at me for what I was or did 20 years ago.

Did I mention that McCain now has my vote because of Palin?;)

LOL — I loved my mini-skirts. :) McCain has my vote because of Palin, too! I really don’t like him much at all. However, it sort of feels like he has apologized, a LITTLE by doing something that would be so beneficial for our party, and so beneficial to the ideas of Freedom and our Country in general. Sarah really could help develop conservatism in our country - she is inspiring, and it’s just what we need to help strengthen our country and truly unite us. Especially in comparison to Obama who offers fake hope and change, and unity, of course... I could go on and on... LOL :) I really do like her that much.

A women’s militia sounds good to me...
I think there was something I read somewhere that they couldn’t make all-female units because we got mean or something. It wouldn’t surprise me seeing how mother lions and other animals react. :-) I wouldn’t want to mess with a female that had babies. LOL I’ll bet Putin is scared of her. ;-)

This election is Obama's to lose but the "inevitability" factor has almost completely dissipated and his pick of Biden was one born out of desperation, panic and weakness in response from increasingly effective McCain campaign strategies.

No, Mr. Huntworth, the first part of that should read in the past tense. This election *was* Obama's to lose, and that's exactly what he's done. The "inevitability factor" you have mentioned hasn't *almost* dissipated, it is *gone*. Yes, his pick of Joe Biden was one born of desperation, panic, and weakness, in response to effective McCain campaign strategies. It didn't work, and Obama is *still* off-balance, off-message, and on the defensive, this *after* his nomination at his convention.

According to conventional wisdom, Obama should be leading by double digits, cruising to a fairly easy victory at this point. He isn't...

Instead, he is in a dead heat, post-convention with all the momentum going his opponent's way. In short, he's quite likely already lost his bid.

Now, Mr. Huntworth, highly paid political analyst... If *I*, a lowly blue-collar worker, with but a high school diploma can see the obvious, why can't you, and so state it?

I am a little concerned what could happen in urban areas on the day after the election if and when their side loses.

I believe that their hate will turn physical this time.

To be honest with you, I don't anticipate riots, burnings, or lootings taking place. The last time that happened (the Rodney King riots in LA 15 years ago), the government refused to go in and rebuild the neighborhoods that were burned down (the rioters made the mistake of burning and looting their own neighborhoods). It's just no fun to destroy it if no one cares.

The left is getting old and lazy. It's a lot of work to haul your lard-a** out of the recliner and stomp around like a fool. It's far easier to call the local TV station and threaten to "do something" than to actually do something.
