Alan Colmes has been on a downward spiral for the ages since John McCain introduced Sarah Palin as his presumptive Vice-Presidential nominee.
Fellow NewsBuster Warner Todd Huston caught Colmes scraping bottom at his Liberaland web site last night, as the lefty talker and Sean Hannity piñata asked "Did Palin Take Proper Pre-Natal Care?" in connection with Palin's pregnancy and childbirth earlier this year. Trig Palin was born with Down's Syndrome on April 18.
whiff of sanity appears to have prevailed, as the entry is now empty. Also not present: an apology. (Update, 3:30 p.m. -- Here's Colmes's "apology." You can decide whether it's adequate or simply blame-shifting.)
But apparently Colmes has no problem with this entry he put up on Friday afternoon about the circumstances surrounding Todd and Sarah Palin's wedding (full entry follows; links were in original):

To also address the DUmmies questions about behavior after Gov. Palin's water broke, my wife's water broke three days before the doctors removed our son by C-section. This was also just a couple of years before the birth of Gov. Palin's first child. The doctor's rationale - they wanted to give our son more time for lung development (crucial at that stage.) They said watch for a fever - we know how to cure infection. As it was, our son struggled with asthma/lung function in his youth. As expected, the doctors' concerns were well founded.
In conclusion, there are many reasons for Gov. Palin's behavior at the time of the birth of her first child - and none of us, certainly not Alan Colmes, know the facts - nor are they any of our business. Alan - take some friendly advice - spend your time focussing on the positive attributes of your own candidate, and less time "making stuff up" about ours.

These clowns do it because it’s all they’ve got. It started out funny but it’s becoming annoying.
It probably would have been difficult to have a positive pregnancy test in one month in the ‘80’s. I remember having to wait 2 months for the test. But regardless, this is the kind of thing that is nobody’s business. They appear to have a solid marriage & 5 great kids. Maybe the RATS are just jealous that their miserable lives don’t compare.
It's one thing for a liberal co-host to strongly debate issues to make a hot, interesting show. But Alan Holmes has descended to a level of filth and perversion that makes me wonder who at Fox is comfortable with him any more.....unless the powers that be are just as twisted.

They seemed especially incensed about the Palin pick, if it is so terrible that wait around for the bad news. Unfortunately for them it has fired up the base, brought in new money, and took away their white man diversity pitch they were going to use on Romney and Pawlenty.

It’s not the speech police or thought police or what have you that I am talking about- I am a customer of FOX news and I am sick of hearing his ugle comments and certain things are just ignorant and in bad taste and don’t need to be on the air. If enough people call and write to get the man fired it is the people he angered that will be shutting him up, not any government agency. You well know that any talk host that talked this way about a democrat would have been fired already.
I am just tired of them saying what they want about conservatives and or Republicans and getting away with it. I am tired of the double standard of the media and I am ready to fight back. He is not the only one, many in the media have been saying ugly things, and downright sexist things that would get most people fired from their jobs in this country—why is the media special? I don’t think they are- I think it is past time to stand up to them. They need to go back to the real issues, and the actual news and stop the trash talk.
When is Colmes going to tell us any and all things that Michelle Obama might have done wrong while she was pregnant? When is Colmes going to dig and find out if Michelle is indeed the mother of their children- or if some other female relative is really the mother— when is Colmes going to talk about who may or may not be the father of her chilren? He won’t of course, and no other talk host will either because they know the democrats won’t tolerate it. We shouldn’t either!!
