"Gallup- H up by 8, and Rasmussen, H up by 4... Best guess is H was up by 5 on the semi-avg of the 2, before Palin "

What is "H"?
Hillary back in the race or something?

I’m fairly confindent that McCain Palin will take Ohio. I noticed yesterday that the crowds shown on the news from Ohio when Obama speaks are 80% black now and being held in much smaller places where the crowd looks large but really isn’t.

The Sarah Palin factor is going to show up in the next few days.

There will be countless family get-togethers this weekend, and Sarah Palin will be a likely topic of discussion. We Freepers will be at them, armed with the truth.

I'm going with my lady to visit some of her friends tonight for a barbecue (we're bringing the Black Angus London broil's!), and I'm eager to see what some of her lefty friends think about this. I've gotten myself well-versed here, so that I can give an intelligent answer to any criticisms, and see if these former Hillary supporters can be waivered.

At the very least, we can try the line that Hillary gets a re-match at the Presidency sooner if McCain and Palin win, and if enough people see a woman in the VP spot, it makes it easier for them to vote for a woman in the top spot.

Pure BS, I readily admit, but you bluff with the cards you're dealt!

They all are. Polls these days don’t say much about November. I’m anxious how people will react as they get to know more about Palin. So far the Republicans seem enthused. She may even bring some home who have had it with McCain.

“Other polls have McCain/Palin up by as much 4-5 points. Who’s correct?”

As of today? Havent seen those.

This is a Th, Fr, Sat poll. We are on the downside of the obama bounce. If he was up 8 pts prior day, then a 6pt result means the saturday sample was below a 6pt gap. That’s good. Ras had the gap at 3 pts for Obama. better.

I wont feel comfortable until I see a Mccain +3 poll result. Hopefully we will get there in the next 10 days.

“Gallup seemed to get some kind of Outlier polls on Wed/Thur of last week. They went from Obama+2 to Obama+9 almost overnight. On a 3 day tracking poll, that would mean Obama would have gotten a 15-18 point lead on Wednesday and/or Thursday night. That is highly unlikely, considering most other tracking polls showed it staying in the 3-4 point range.”

The odd conclusion you reach from that is that the Tues/Weds night convention is what worked. HILLARY AND BILL CLINTON WORKED. Which I believe. They convince the Hillary supporters to get on board and he shoots through the roof...

“In fact, it looks like his poll numbers went down after the speech. Whether that is response to his speech, or the masterful timing of McCain’s VP announcement, only time will tell.”

I dont think the speech worked that well. It was good but not great. As some said “nothing new”.

Now Imagine if we were looking at a Hillary/Obama ticket right now with Hillary on top. The Republicans dodged a bullet.

“the MSM is still praising it to high heaven”

The same MSM that loved Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry ... and thought they did great too.

But you have Broder, Safire, and Nina Easton on Fox panning it.

Even if some Hillary supporters “come home” eventually, the ‘energy gap’ is greatly diminished if you make the positive case for Palin.

They KNOW that Hillary was treated shabbily by the MSM and Obama campaigns. They will be alert to same BS if done again against Palin. It may wake them up to the bias in the media.

“Dallas County is lost here “

It aint lost if you fight to bring it back.
The GOP stayed home in 2006. There was no energy. You got blindsided. You’ve got some key state rep races. Zedler and others ... if you work on fixing the turnout, you can win it back or at least close the gap.

I am in Travis. If we lose Dallas and Harris, it would be a slow slide to swing state status. Gotta fight it hard right where we are.

Help them out too please.
