This is not good for Obama. Let’s face it, I bet they thought they would get at least a ten point bounce out of the convention with all the theatrics of the temple, and fireworks...etc.
What did they really get, four points or something?

Regarding the Zogby poll that had McCain up 2 on Saturday.

Yes, it is not a traditional telephone poll. But is is NOT the CNN/MSNBC/FOX online poll either. Zogby sends emails out to people who have “subscribed” somewhere along the way. So it is to a select group of people. (ie. the poll cannot be Freeped for example). Then Zogby adjusts based on the demographics of those reponding to his email. The adjustments are based on the standard demographic (D/R/I) databases they use for their regular polling.

So the Zogby poll is somewhat of a hybrid. I doubt it is as accurate, but it is NOT an anybody who wants to vote online kind of poll either.

Remember polls lag current news events. People do not watch Obama or McCain make one speech and 5-10% of them change their voting preference.

And really, the only poll that matters will be taken November 4. I can’t wait!

Tomorrow will be 47%-45% Obama and then after the hurricane hits will determine whether McCain/Palin stay 2% down, tied or even lead and then after the convention will determine how much the lead will be.
I believe Obama is toast and he knows it. If he didn't leave the convention by a minimum of 10% lead then people just aren't buying his “change” crapola.

He's toast. They needed 15 and his speech was a disaster. The GOP now has an opportunity to move into the lead. And the Democrats are concerned it may be for good.

With Palin, Gustav, and the retooling of the RNC, Obama-Biden is looking very small today.

Agreed - and. . Lets not get too confident here everyone. We need to vote early and often on the 4th. This will be close and we can take nothing for granted.

By the way, as an aside - my Mom who is a lifelong Republican and former Messia acolyte is very excited about the demonstration McCain showed to REAL change. One more for M/P!

As the title indicated, H is up by 6 here, 3 on Ras, so he’s gotten a bump of about 4 points... Not great, but not awful either

The “dead-cat” phenomenon. In the stock market, a slide in value (in this instance, the polls) may be temporarily checked, and a brief rebound takes place, apparently the beginning of a turnaround. But when the apparent good news gets trumped, and the basic weaknesses reappear, the downward slide begins again, this time with much less chance of rescue.

The Sarah Palin factor is going to show up in the next few days. First impressions, highly favorable. This is the sound of the crack of the bat when you know the fast ball in over the plate meets the sweet spot, and the long arc to the center field fence begins. With bases loaded.

Not necessarily, the Gallup poll has date from pre-Palin in it. The Zogby poll does not.

Barry O should be ahead by at least 12 at this time. Figuring in the Bradley effect, the new Messiah is looking more and more like burnt toast than the second coming.

Thanks. I am even thinking about volunteering for the campaign. I think the more people know about Palin, the more they will prefer her. And I live in a pretty liberal area so we have our work cut out for us.

Why do you think his speech was a disaster? I thought he came across as an angry, finger-pointing, obnoxious lying p——... But, the MSM is still praising it to high heaven... I absolutely despise them, cause they drive public opinion to a great degree

Small bounce. It will all be gone within a week. I expect the McCain-Palin duo to up by 4-6 points after Friday.

Good for you nobama08. I am in a staunch part of TX, but I help with money to candidates that are in battleground area. Dallas County is lost here but the state will go heavily to McCain.
