The biggest risk in this election year is fraud.
McCain/Palin is a winner, but the Republicans need to be EXTRAORDINARILY vigilant about preventing ballot-stuffing, dead people voting, etc., this year. Obama comes from the Chicago political machine. Don’t forget that.
I said months ago that the only way I would vote for McCain was if he chose Palin as his running mate . He did ; and I will keep my promise .
I think McCain should step down and hand over the reins to Fred Thompson, now that would be real positive change. Two real conservatives on the ticket.

I’ve thought this from day one. Imagine the ads, if McCain has the guts to run them:
1. Picture of smiling Obama, with arm around Wright. Overlay of Obama’s quote that Wright is his mentor. Finally, close the ad with the actual audio of Wright saying “God d*** America” in that creepy loud voice.
2. Show Obama pictured with his movie star friends, followed by an overlay of his quote about rural people clinging to guns and religion.
3. Ad about the Baby Born Alive Act ... John McCain and his wife adopted from overseas, Gov. Palin’s quote about the perfection of her youngest child with Down Syndrome, followed by chilling quotes from Obama against the Illinois baby born alive act.
etc. etc.
Though, I agree having two conservatives would be nice, flights of fantasy about Fred is probably a serious sign of living in denial.
McCain is the pick, even if McCain did step down, Fred would not take it just to lose to a neophyte faux messiah.

The American Electorate has been given two very opposite candidates this year. On the far left we have the Obama-Biden ticket and on the conservative side we have the McCain-Palin ticket.
As Obama gets increasing exposure of his far left views, the McCain-Palin ticket will look even better to the undecideds in the middle.

Good advice. The Dims, having once again achieved a convention dead-cat bounce, will now go for the dead people vote, one of their key constituancies..

You are absolutely spot on! My thought of congresscritters is that I wouldn’t walk across the street to piss on them if they were on fire,save for maybe 2 or 3.I’m thinking I won’t have to hold my nose to vote for McCain now.
I hope Mr. Kuhner is right. Personally, I don’t have that much faith in the American electorate, as it currently stands. Too many liberals, entitlement recipients, buffoons, useful idiots, illegals, and dead people voting. Sadly, I feel like the people who actually make America function are increasingly in the minority.
McCain has just galvanized his party with the selection of Sarah Palin.
Obama's choice of Biden did the exact opposite. There are so many Hillary folks that will either vote for McCain or sit out the election. Their anger runs deep. Obama barely crossed the finish line at the end of the nomination process.
Tell me the reasons you do not support Obama.
It depends on what your definition of “win big” is. I think McCain-Palin will win huge in the electoral vote count. There are too many kooks on both coasts, however, which will make the popular vote closer. That is the nature of contemporary polarized politics.
That said, we will be going to bed early election night. No nailbiting. I also believe Obama’s shrinking coattails may blow what could have been a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate.......

Are our choices only limited to those who field slates of electors that are on our ballot? It is from only those that we can choose, correct?
Sorry dude, but you need to get wake up and smell the coffee.
Fred Thompson ran one of the most pathetic campaigns I’ve ever seen. He acted like he wanted to be coronated and, when that didn’t work, he didn’t seem interested in playing. The truth is he’s a tired old man who comes off looking like a corpse when he’s without a script & director. Even Rudy Guliani did better.
Ideas aside, being elected President is as much of an endurance contest than anything else. To get the job, you really have to want it with every fiber of your being. You may have the greatest ideas in the world, but if you don’t have the fortitude and motivatation to get them implemented, you will be no-place. Thompson failed that test miserably.
PS may I ask whom you supported in the primaries? It might help you or me make a point.
AIT, yes, I think she is good enough to serve as President, and that four years of serving as Vice President will be more than enough time to further groom her for the presidency.
Certainly she is far better ready to govern than Senator Obama, who has no relevant experience, and whose extreme left-wing positions, combined with a House led by Congresswoman Pelosi, would likely see the enactment of a United State National Health Service, the passage of extortionate taxes, and enactment of Senator Obama's Global Poverty Act.
Would I personally prefer Congressman Duncan Hunter? Yes, but Governor Palin is certainly more than acceptable to me --- I think that she is a brilliant choice. I go from simply voting against Obama to voting for a ticket that now has demonstrated adherence to the base values of the Republican party.
Nothing like putting it all out there!
