Palin Makes Good First Impression: Is Viewed More Favorably than Biden (Rassmussen)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 8/30/2008 | n/a

Sarah Palin has made a good first impression. Before being named as John McCain’s running mate, 67% of voters didn’t know enough about the Alaska governor to have an opinion. After her debut in Dayton and a rush of media coverage, a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 53% now have a favorable opinion of Palin while just 26% offer a less flattering assessment.

Palin earns positive reviews from 78% of Republicans, 26% of Democrats and 63% of unaffiliated voters. Obviously, these numbers will be subject to change as voters learn more about her in the coming weeks. Among all voters, 29% have a Very Favorable opinion of Palin while 9% hold a Very Unfavorable view.

By way of comparison, on the day he was selected as Barack Obama’s running mate, Delaware Senator Joseph Biden was viewed favorably by 43% of voters.

They are trying to go down the experience route.

My thoughts about her are mixed. Her resume is too light for VP (even though it is comparable or even better than Obama’s). I would have liked to see 4 more years in high office (ie Governor, Senator, or Cabinet/other highly placed Executive position). That being said the Republicans are doing what is typically done in business now days. Qualified women professionals have about a 3-5 year step ahead of their male peers (I have seen this at two different companies). At first I worried about it, but now I have become a happy technical drone. Just as long as I get to do interesting work and get paid reasonably well, I am happy.

If that is him and he is drunk (I watched the video so both questions are unclear to me) why hasn’t it hit drudge or anybody else, I usually think of myself up on any political happenings but I have yet to hear a peep about this.

The only things I can think of is either it's not him or maybe it's not that important that he gets videotaped having some fun with friends when he's a little tipsy.

I'm as right-wing as they come but I can't see why this has not made any head way on the late night circuit if it is true.

I liked Dan Quayle

Absolutely agree.

I still think he would be the best man for the job of President. The Dims knew this when he became the youngest Sen Committee Chairman ever and had to find a way to kneecap him. Photo-op at an elementary school spelling lesson where the teacher holds up the infamous alternate spelling, and the rest is history. Obama doesn't know within ten percent, how many states there are; or what committees he's on or not on, and it macht nichts.

Melanie Morgan says: “...a Democrat businesswoman who was going to be interviewed on Air America on a non-related political topic tells me that the lefty liberal network producers are telling her that the Republicans just won the election with the Palin choice. It’s nice to hear the lib’s are running scared.”

The Chicago political machine is going to have to work
a lot harder to ‘rock’ a much larger cemetary vote this
time around now that SP is on the GOP ticket. The ‘rats
university crowd are going to need to figure out how to
vote more than two or three times as well.

Here was my take...

I was watching the live feeds today. Mac and Sarah in Penn and Obama Biden in Ohio...

It was strikingly dis similar...

Penn... Up beat... Pos... not one neg mention of the opponent... Kudos to Hillary... Sarah built up Mac....and told us about herself. Talked about our country... etc.

contrast with...

Ohio...

Bloveeeateing Biden...(who was obviously registering above .05 alcohol...second time now... you could see the look of exaspiration on Obama’s face as if he were saying...”God, why did “we” pick this guy...?) for about 30 minutes on what a scoundrel Bush and McCain...are...Talking about himself...and I think if I’m not mistakin drawing from the plagierism...of the past ....

THen “finally” introducing Obama...

The contrast was monumental.... One of pos and one of negative...

If this country picks them...then something is really wrong here...and it’s the start of the fall of the roman empire...

Biden is a certifiable moron, which will be obvious after 30 seconds of debating Palin.

The entertainment value of the VP debate(s) will be awesome.

Can't wait until she debates Biden. She'll hand him his hat.

And just think, it'll be little Trig and Piper, along with their sisters, growing up in the White House. The former will be a sixteen year old young man when his mother finishes her second term as POTUS.

Instead he picked a Jerk Washington Insider who got a measly 2% of the vote when he ran for the nomination. Great pick there Obama.

May that be our political salvation. Amen!

Yeah I know. I love how the MSM has tried to soften his image these last few days. Too funny.
