Hundreds of terrorists have been killed by the SAS waging a "secret war" against al-Qaeda in Iraq, The Sunday Telegraph can disclose.
More than 3,500 insurgents have been "taken off the streets of Baghdad" by the elite British force in a series of audacious "Black Ops" over the past two years.

Delta Force has suffered in the region of 20 per cent casualties. If true - that is very high rate...

Nice work indeed. Now, if only they could do the same thing at home to rid the UK of its jihadi problem.

"taken off the streets.."
I like the sound of that. I can almost hear the "wink, wink".

This just goes to show how good the British soldier can be. It is their leadership that is suffering.

The SAS have to be the best special forces in the world.
At least they are not subjected to the rules like the rest of our armies.
They go out and just kill, one shot to the head and one to the heart, bang bang.
I’ll never forget as a kid watching the Iranian embassy siege and the SAS came down ropes from helicopters , went through the windows, killed all the terrorists, saved the hostages and then got back on the helicopter’s back to base all in a few minutes.
To think they do not even have to go to court if they do not want to and are now allowed to reveal who they are

If you mean leadership by the Govt then agreed
know this from experience
the officers are good the problem is the Govt who restrict the soldier, happily they do not control the SAS as they are unto themselves and no one else really.
who dares wins

A British lawyer is present during the planning stages of every operation and our troops operate under British rules, not American rules.I didn't like this part of the story so much...

It wasn’t the government thing that irked me, it was the lawyer thing.

sorry, long day
I see your point but I suppose they would have the likes of Murtha saying things which were not true so maybe a good thing in the end
