BERWICK, Maine — Andrea Burns' Route 9 neighbor watched a woman pull up to Burns' home Thursday, pick up the family's 14-year-old cat, Pumpkin, from the front yard, put the cat in her back seat and drive away.
The whole incident was fairly quick, said the neighbor, who wishes to remain anonymous, but it has left the Burns family with a lasting sadness in wake of their cat's theft.

I am praying that Pumpkin is found safe and comes home soon to his loving family. This just makes me sick. He looks a lot like one of my cats and it would be devastated.
Dude I almost would have laughed hysterically if this story weren't so tragic. It reminded me of a Chinese restaurant chain we have up here called The Asia. They were using raccoon meat in their food. They do it in China but its illegal here so they lost customers and some of their restaurants went under.

This happened about 10 miles from where I live. Too bad the witness didn’t get the plate number.

It’s not fair! My cat is outside most of the time but when I wake up in the morning she’s still there. If I knew who grabbed this cat I’d give them my address.

More likely that Pumpkin will end up sold to a research facility for experiments.
Back in the 1990s, theft of pets sold to research facilities was quite the scandal that never reached proper hurricane proportions in reporting. It should have. There were gangs of pet thieves roaming the countryside stealing pets. Several of the scum were caught.
