So Alaska has a small population? About 700,000. It is run by one governor. Delaware, is fairly comparable in population, about 850,000, represented by TWO Senators. So, Mr. Biden, who has the bigger job?
But if you look at population and demographic trends. Alaska, is experiencing faster population and economic growth than Deleware. What's more, Alaska figures to be far more prominent in the future because of its natural resources.
and in physical size it is larger than Texas and in mineral and energy resources more than all the lower 48âs grand total.
Also, consider the scale of issues facing a Gov. of Alaska, vs. a mere Senator from a tiny place like Deleware, especially in regards to:
Healthcare
Environment
Transportation
Labor
and the list goes on...
There is just no comparison, Gov. vs. Senator, state vs. state, no comparison whatsoever.
Don’t try to confuse the Dims with numbers. They don’t understand facts. They prefer strongly help opinions.
“They prefer strongly help opinions.”(sic)
That agree with their own strongly-held opinions.
Everyone I’ve talked to thinks McCain/Palin is a slam dunk. People who weren’t going to vote, now plan to vote for McCain. They’re thrilled. One person isn’t, though...my Italian/American friend (dual citizenship), who thinks Euro/Italy all the time. She was just about speechless — although agreeing that Sarah is one in a million — so I filled in the blanks. Europe can’t defend itself, and here comes Russia to deny fuel to Germany and threaten Europe. What did she think that meant? No reply. Would Obama help Europe? No. Did she think America needed defending? No answer. I told her McCain would defend this country to his last breath, but even so, she said she’d never pull the lever for him.
>> Also, consider the scale of issues facing a Gov. of Alaska
Well, that prolly explains Gov. Palin’s eight percent approval rating... lower than Biden’s share of Congress’ 18 percent.
...what?
You say Gov. Palin’s approval rating among Alaskans is not eight percent, but rather EIGHTY PERCENT?
uh... nevermind.
If more Alaskan oil is diverted to Japan to reduce demand on middle east supplies and free more resources for Europe- who does your friend think has more grasp of the issues- Palin or Obama-Biden?
How many energy pipeline deals have Obama and Biden personally negotiated?
Who does your friend prefer running the US State dept dealing with the Russians in 2009? The former Clintonites (Madeline Albright Susan Rice et al)who are Obama’s frontline of expertise? Or a team selected by McCain?
Note Palin’s track record on this issue immediately upon assuming governor’s office in Alaska.
Of course, the rest of the time I saw from him, he was talking about rich people's responsibility to provide health care to the poor.
I now fully expect to see the Ben Stein Foundation for Wealth Transfer any day now, with a stated mission of funding health care for poor people. Or maybe he is just going to let the government steal his thunder.

Someone made the observation earlier that Alaska does have more people than Vermont, and I believe that Howard Dean was once thought of as the salvation of the Democrat Party.
People go on Alaskan Cruises. They don't go on Delaware Cruises.
Dear Al Gore,
I have become very interested in Alaska over the last few days.
It sounds like the kind of place we used to have here in the lower forty eight states before people were taught in grade school to hate America and to engage in self destructive behavior instead of learning to read and write.
It seems to be a place where regular people aren’t ridiculed and called names because they aren’t homosexuals or because they judge people by their character instead of their race and skin color.
You are probably wondering why I am telling you this.
The reason is that I would like to live in a place like that.
But I cannot stand cold weather - not even a little bit.
And by all accounts it gets very cold there.
It seems to me that if you stop campaigning against the earth warming up, people might stop trying to cool it down.
Then, Alaska might might get warm enough for me to move there.
Please give my suggestion your favorable consideration as I am getting on in age and will probably have to make a decision in the next few years.
Repectfully yours,
A Concerned Citizen
LOL ... one of the best lines so far!
A Governor has to get results. They don’t hide in DC and do nothing.
Alaska sprawls across four time zones (even though three of these have been politically combined into one). It covers 57.5 degrees of longitude, which equals the span of land from Maine to Washington. North to south, Alaska extends through 20 degrees of latitude, from 51 to 71 degrees, which equals the span of land from a latitude south of London, England, to within nineteen degrees of the North Pole.
In addition, the coastline of Alaska exceeds the combined coastlines of all the other states in the U.S., including Hawaii.
The Double-Standard of the Self-Anointed strikes again.
Alaska has 8 national parks, of which 7 are larger than the entire state of Delaware. Denali NP is nearly four times the size of Delaware. The largest NP is more than six times the size of Delaware (Wrangell-St. Elias NP, at 8,323,148 acres, vs. 1,250,560 acres for the whole state of Delaware).
Biden has been one of 535 lawmakers for the past 36 years, who seeks earmarks for his tiny state and to raise taxes on nearly every American to pay for them. He also works less than 100 days a year with a group that polls at 9-18% approval.
