Sarah Palin wasn’t REALLY pregnant — it’s her daughter’s child.
This popped up on a Daily Kos diary and has unfortunately been repeated by bloggers who should know better. The rumor is a weird reversal of the John Edwards story, only this time, critics refute Palin’s maternity. Supposedly, so the story goes, the baby really was their eldest daughter’s (currently in high school), and not hers. The proof? At six months, Palin didn’t “look pregnant”, and supposedly her daughter had mono and took some time off from school. That’s it.
This is, simply, despicable. Babies born to teen mothers rarely have Down’s Syndrome anyway, whereas the possibility for that with a mother in her 40s is about 1 in 20. Athletic women sometimes do not show until late in the pregnancy. The whole rumor rests on the notion that the state’s most visible woman could carry out a fake pregnancy in front of the press while simultaneously hiding her daughter, and then pull a switcheroo — and for what possible purpose? To cover up a teen pregnancy, in this day and age? Give me a break.
The picture below was published at the end of February, and she certainly appears to be significantly wider than we saw yesterday on the dais.
If this is what the opposition comes down to, McCain made the wisest possible choice, and in the process exposed the opposition in a way that could never have been possible with any other running mate.

Good grief! I’ve been here since 1998 during Lewinskygate. I was tickled beyond belief when she was selected because she was my pick several weeks ago. But what I am is naturally skeptical of all things and do not like to leave things to chance. My whole working career was spent doing investigation and I’ve followed politics since 1952 and even remember Truman. I know how these things can turn on a dime. We can’t risk this blowing up in our face a week or the weekend before election date. You know as well as I do, everything will be dumped out on the last day or two. All elections are like this. If we dare to let our guard down we will surely lose.
Good work! That’s what we need to keep getting. Leave nothing to chance.
I’m sure the accusations are untrue. Not a doubt in my mind about that.
Palin isn’t my ideal veep; McCain isn’t my preference either. But they are sure to win. The competition is that bad. It’s a bit early to predict but as of this moment I’d say McCain will go over 300 EV.
I hope the democRATS continue down this path of attacking her on items like this. Makes DailyKos, DemocratUnderground, HuffPost look even more ridiculous then they already are.

That’s probably a good idea. In this internet age, one has to be able to counter everything on a moment’s notice. That was what doomed Bush41 in 1992 when the Clinton campaign was in high gear. Bush could never get traction and Clinton just came at him immediately. I’m sure that McCain is much more astute and his campaign team must (hopefully) be on top of this to fire back should it show up on one of the MSM outlets as it surely will. I’m a firm believer that the best defense is a strong offense. Don’t let the other side’s offense get on the field. Ball control. That’s how football games are won and it is the same in politics.

In my past life I once got involved in establishing maternity on a child support case. That was purely unique but it is also true. I nearly fell out of my seat when my investigator told me about it. Seems the girlfriend used her married boyfriend’s medical insurance to birth the child on a military base. When the “legal” mother was confronted she threw a fit and no wonder. It wasn’t her child.
Even if it were true, what about the right of privacy the Dems regarding these type of decisions that all Dems yammer about?
Will the press now investigate the daughter in the name of the public’s right to know?
Have no fear. The USS Obama is sinking. Maybe next time he should run for office over in Iran, or some other terrorist country.

I guess you missed the best one out there from KOS (it’s covered in another thread). The Downs Syndrome child is not really hers. Her eighteen year old daughter gave birth to him out of wedlock and Sarah’s claiming him as her own to avoid any embarassment. For “proof” of this, the Elois are saying that she wasn’t “showing much” before the birth.
All the shady stuff in Obama’s background and they have the bold stupidity to come up with this. They are just simply evil, not evil geniuses.
