As a result of yesterday's stunning news about Sarah Palin, the next Vice President of the United States, many Freepers have decided to contribute to the McCain campaign.

TODAY is the LAST day that you can contribute to the McCain campaign. Tomorrow, public financing (ugh!) kicks in and they cannot accept donations any more.

If you want to participate, do it TODAY.

As I said, I was at Cafe Press yesterday looking at Sarah Palin graphics.

New ones were coming in so fast and furious all I had to do was refresh page one!

I should look tonight; it’s probably changed completely.

I made the ‘I heart Sarah’ above. There was one on Cafe Press but it was poorly done.

About a month ago, I made my first ever campaign donation to our local conservative Republican candidate, Kieran Lalor.

McCain-Palin was my second. I made sure to get some stickers and a lawn sign out of it, too. It was a modest donation but I’m glad I did it. 6 months ago I’d have probably told you I’m going 3rd party.

Well, since that will never happen, you can continue to remain irrelevant. You have ONE vote, it's yours, use it (or not) however you wish.

Yes, I do, and I'm not ready to start giving it away to leftists of either party.

McCains is being screwed over by his “Finance Reform Bill”.

Obama isn’t abiding by it. He has oodles of money with no limit and NO federal restirictions. McCain is restricted by Federal guidlines.

This is the last day for donations to the McCain campaign because John McCain is a man of his word and is keeping his pledge to accept federal campaign funding for the general election.

This means he will be limited to that $20 million between now and the election, while Obama has reneged on his pledge to accept federal funding because of his unprecedented ability to raise money. So there’s no limit to how much Obama can spend on smear ads to defeat McCain.

And the limit on personal funds McCain can use, whether his or Cindy’s, is $50,000.

I have never been this excited over an election and am stunned that it happened so fast.

You know, before this turn of events, I was reluctantly going to vote for McCain unless he nominated Ridge or Lieberman in which case I planned to stay home for the first time, ever.

I wasn't going to give even though I had kept some of the reply envelopes I got in the mail. I sure wasn't going to work for the campaign.

Then Saddleback happened and as glimmer of hope arose in my heart.

Then yesterday happened!!

Now I have real hope that we can pull this off and avoid a socialist utopia (ughhh).

Before this, I was, in a strange way, envious of the Democrats. Not because they are right or have real solutions but because they had emotional hope, something I used to experience with Ronaldus Magnus.

Then yesterday happened!

My old excitement which I never felt about Bush, Dole, or "W" is back in spades. I am not pleased, I am elated, almost manic (not really).

John McCain knows who the base is. He is not taking us for granted. I still disagree with him on issues but I think he'll change on some. For example, I can't imagine him coming out against ANWR again.

It is truly a good day to be a Republican and a Conservative.

Please don't tell me this is one of the changes that take effect as a result of McCain/Feingold.

I'm afraid I might die laughing.

It is NOT part of McCain-Feingold. It results from his choosing public financing.

You sound almost like me. I was going to vote Republican come hell or high water though McCain wasn't an exciting choice.

Saddleback got me interested in seeing the two candidates debate because it convinced me McCain would be superior.

Then when yesterday happen everything changed, with excitement the likes of which I haven't felt since childhood Christmases. Nobody is perfect for you or me but Sarah is the most dynamic candidate I've ever seen.

It’s ironic when John McCain’s very own, very bad, and very unconstitutional “campaign finance reform” system hurts him, at least for a few days prior to his official GOP nomination as POTUS. The ongoing storm could truly delay all monies to McCain/Palin even longer than planned!

I took the money I was saving wor work clothes and sent it in. I can make do with what I have a while longer. If Obama gets in I might not have a job anyway.
