DALLAS (Reuters) - Conservative Republican prayers for the November 4 presidential election may have been answered.

John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate sends a clear message to the party's conservative religious base: God and guns are on the ticket.

Conservative Christians and analysts say the 44-year-old devout born-again evangelical and mother of five has the "right stuff" to energize this base, from her staunch opposition to abortion to her passion for hunting and fishing.

She has a compelling personal narrative for religious conservatives capped by the fact that she opted to have her fifth child even though she knew he would have Down's syndrome -- making her a darling of the anti-abortion movement.

A criticism is that she (like Obama) has no foreign policy experience. A dem hack was ranting about this on Larry Kudlow’s (CNBC) show last night.

Kudlow reiterated Obama, at the top of the ticket did not have experience. He also told the hack that Palan’s next-door neighbor was Russia, not Missouri or Ohio. I thought that was a neat comment.

Another hack said that Palan had only presided over one budget as governor. Kudlow said that it was one more than Obama had presided over.

If we can unleash the resources in Alaska our soviet and rad islamic foes can pack up and go back to their hovels.

I heard Bob Beckel say yesterday that right now Dan Quayle must be feeling like Thomas Jefferson. I've said all along that Obama is the empty suit dunce that the media tried to make Quayle out to be.

The Obama campaign knocking her experience is definitely like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Well she's a lifetime member of the NRA so I would imagine she gets it. Most people who drop the coin for lifetime membership are more than just hunters and understand the 2nd Amendment. She also appears to be a conservative ideologue which indicates she understands the 2nd.

I hope conservatives are aware what the liberals are trying to do by linking both GOD & GUNS in the same sentence... they are trying to label Christians as terrorist.. and if a very liberal anti-God administration were to get in office, that would give them justification to declare war ( WOT ) on Christians.... i.e. oppression camps, concentration camps, so on and so on... well, you get the picture.
