Stay Classy Daily Kos: Accusations Palin 'Faked Her Pregnancy' of Down's Syndrome baby

Taking a look at the stories in the Old Media will show that the Media is turning attack dog ASAP on McCain's choice for vice president, Sarah Palin. Notice the main meme is her supposed "inexperience." Funny how Palin was the VP pick for about 15 seconds before the Old Media went after her "inexperience" while they have yet to hit Barry Obama on HIS inexperience at all and he's been running for president since 2004. We should also note that Palin didn't get the honeymoon that Biden got when his announcement was made. But, the worst is yet to come and the Daily Kos is doing its level best to mine the lowest of lows. In a Kos diary today, it is being alleged that Sarah Palin "faked" the pregnancy of her last child, a baby born with Down's Syndrome. The claim is that it was her teenaged daughter's child, not hers. And, true to form, the Kossacks took that absurd calumny and hate even further in the comments.

Well, if you really want to push that issue, consider that those resources belong to the Alaskan Natives, not white settlers who took that land from them.

There has got to be something in the water the EO drink. ;-)

How else can you miss a fairly straightforward point about states rights vs. federalism.

K: She is also a hardline Evangelical Christian and I do not trust people who think they are on a mission from God. That is too Mohammedan for me.

FK: Do you have a specific statement along these lines you strongly object to?

FK I don't know about you, but I remember complaining about the Miers nomination and supported Alito and Roberts. I don't recall Christians making their RC practices an issue. At least now we see how bigoted these "holier than thou" EO are.

She is also a hardline Evangelical Christian and I do not trust people who think they are on a misison from God. That is too Mohammedan for me.

She attends one of the "Bible Churches." They are hardly a vocal evangelical denomination. In fact, they're pretty quiet. Their thing is studying the bible in both church, home, and private life.

Not by the wildest stretch can they be seen in that classic slam "on a mission from God."

You really need to brush up on your American denominations.

Palin fits this mold. She hasn't even mentioned her religious faith in anything I've listened to, and I've listened to all her broadcast moments. I believe she said at the end of her speech, "God bless you and God bless America."

There's a bible-thumping radical if I ever saw one. /sarc

It is not disloyal to want to return to territorial status. This group believes they were not granted the statehood vote. ...... The fact that Palin’s husband, part Eskimo, would be associated with an Alaska-only group simply doesn’t bother me at all. It seems sort of natural, actually.

You know, it's funny. In all the research I have had to do about these guys for my defense of Sarah Palin, I actually think I was too harsh about them in my first comments. :) I can't say as I identify with them, but the more I have read the more I think they have some good points. When I read their platform, I didn't think of them as being traitorous at all.

Exactly the same for me. I read their platform and it made perfect sense. Basically, their platform says that they think the Fed has federalized too much of Alaska's land and natural resources.

Then I read their major goal (listed on their website.)

It was simply: "to get a statehood vote." That is hardly incindiary. It isn't traitorous at all.

And they don't want to secede....some of them want to go back to territorial status. That's not breaking away.

That by itself doesn't offend me. But is it a deal breaker for you?

Big time. I am sure some religious views would be for you too. It was a deal breaker to so many of your folks in the "fly over" because of rumors that Obama is a Muslim.

Would you vote for someone who is a Muslim, who believed he was on a mission from Allah? Apprently you did vote for someone who believes Christ and Satan are brothers and God the Father is a creature who used to be a man before He became God!

I am willing to wager that you would have second thoughts about an otherwise qualified candidate if he/she were an outspoken atheist with an anti-religion agenda.

To me anyone who says "I am on a mission from God" or "God told me so" etc., is a certifiable nut, and should be considered dangerous.

“At least now we see how bigoted these “holier than thou” EO are.”

Oh, come on, WF. You’ve been dealing with Kosta and me for years...you’ve known about us and our attitudes for ages. We’re always the first to remind you folks that we are the first among sinners and altogether miserable curmudgeons! Admit it! There’s nothing even remotely holy, let alone “holier”, about either Kosta or me! :)

Faith is a private matter. People believe what they want to believe regardless of labels. It's when their beliefs begin to mix with our politics that evangelical beliefs become a red flag issue.

Religion would not matter if everyone just kept to their own beliefs and kept the church separated form politics. But evangelicals, like Muslims, have to push their faith in everyone's face and then can't understand why people are turned off.

Anyone, anyone, who says is on a mission from God is a religious nut and is dangerous because it invites other religious extremists to follow suit. Before you know it, we will have religious parties and that is incompatible with democracy.

Got to agree with Kosta on this one, folks. I am sincerely concerned that we will, if we haven’t already, end up with religious parties in the country. Frankly, if we are going to scrap representative democracy and live in a Theocracy, I’d prefer one headed by a God ordained Orthodox Emperor.

(ignore the snivelers, their slanderous agendas are obvious, here is Palin in 06)

Palin in Debate [Byron York]

I just finished watching a video on C-Span’s website of the August, 2006 Republican debate in the Alaska governor’s race. It pitted Frank Murkowski, the then-governor of the state and veteran of 22 years in the U.S. Senate, against Republican politician John Binkley and Wasilla mayor Sarah Palin. And all I have to say is that Palin was good — really good. It wasn’t a debate in which the candidates were in each other’s faces or throwing out zingers, but Palin clearly outshone her rivals — especially Murkowski, the longtime senator who played the role of the experienced statesman.

As far as substance was concerned, the debate was heavy — I mean heavy — on oil, natural gas, and the money that comes therefrom. To my ears, Palin knew a great deal about the subject and spoke with real authority about it — again outshining her rivals.

On a few other issues, there was a passage in the debate that will lay to rest all those reports we have seen that Palin supports abstinence-only education when it comes to sex. It seems Palin had written in a questionnaire that she opposed “explicit” sex-ed programs, so she was asked:

In a recent survey you said that you would support abstinence-until-marriage education but that you would not support explicit sex-ed programs. What are explicit sex-ed programs, and does that include talking about condoms in school?

Palin’s answer:

No, I don’t think that it includes something that is relatively benign. Explicit means explicit. No, I am pro-contraception, and I think kids who may not hear about it at home should hear about it in other avenues. So I’m not anti-contraception. But yeah, abstinence is another alternative that should be discussed with kids. I don’t have a problem with that. That doesn’t scare me, so it’s something that I would support also.

Finally, Alaska does not have a death penalty — I did not know that — and Palin was asked for her opinion. Her answer was that if the state legislature decided to pass a narrowly focused death penalty, she would support it.

If our lawmakers were to consider such a thing, I think that support should be given for heinous crimes. A murder of a child? I say, my goodness, hang ‘em up. Yeah. A murder of a child, anything to such a degree, I don’t think that there can be anything worse. And if lawmakers were to consider it, that should be the consideration.

If you have time, you should definitely watch the debate.

I also voted for Romney. And I would vote for any good conservative, regardless of whether or not he or she was Catholic. A no-brainer.

That is a money quote when it comes to those who accuse her of being a religious fanatic in her support of abstinence-only sex ed. She says that she wanted "ab only" sex-ed offered because it's being discussed and kids should know about it. It sounds like she pro-discussion. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

She opposes "explicit" sex-ed programs. I agree. Why make a class prurient just to get kids' attention? Subliminally, it ends up teaching them it's OK to get naked and fool around.

She's a very smart lady.

Finally, Kolo, see my #483 above. Palin's from a fairly balanced, think-first-talk-later denomination.

George Bush has been in intense spiritual warfare ever since he ran for president the first time. I’ve never seen anything like the vitriol he has faced, even on FR, from those who hate him. It has been a true spiritual battle for him and for republicans, especially the believers. satan is not happy with a Christian president or other leaders. The democrats (and others) have played right into his hands. I am amazed our president did as well as he has spiritually, emotionally, and every other way. He has taken one ‘hell’ of a beating and still managed to keep us safe.

“WHY?”

Your advocacy of and obvious belief in Eastern Orthodoxy(as per your tag line) leads you to conclude that Sarah Palin should have been using affective Birth Control to avoid having a 5th baby? That she was selfish before Christ and God?

Do you want to go out on that limb?
