Faith is a private matter. People believe what they want to believe regardless of labels. It's when their beliefs begin to mix with our politics that evangelical beliefs become a red flag issue.
Religion would not matter if everyone just kept to their own beliefs and kept the church separated form politics. But evangelicals, like Muslims, have to push their faith in everyone's face and then can't understand why people are turned off.
Anyone, anyone, who says is on a mission from God is a religious nut and is dangerous because it invites other religious extremists to follow suit. Before you know it, we will have religious parties and that is incompatible with democracy.
Got to agree with Kosta on this one, folks. I am sincerely concerned that we will, if we haven’t already, end up with religious parties in the country. Frankly, if we are going to scrap representative democracy and live in a Theocracy, I’d prefer one headed by a God ordained Orthodox Emperor.
LOLOL. I didn't realize the Orthodox did not live their faith in all aspects of their lives.
Politicians are not called to be irreligious. They are called to be faithful to God's word and the laws of the land, the latter hopefully resting on the former.
