WEIR: She has an, she has an infant with special needs. Will that affect her campaigning?

That's it. I'm donating to McCain again. These people can NOT be allowed to win.

Do these people really expect to be taken seriously? After decades of urging women to get out of the house, and supporting abortion, they’re suddenly worried about who’s taking care of the baby? These people are shameless.

Ironic, isn't it!

Let’s see.....Hillary claims to have been in politics for 35 years, how old is Chelsea, not to mention the fact that her husband, Bill, obviously had special needs. How did she manage?

Don, with all due respect, that’s simply untrue. Those teenagers haven’t a clue what to do with a new special needs baby. I know, my 25 year old son with Down Syndrome is sitting in the next room watching Big Bird tapes. Gov. Palin has no business running for VP under these circumstances.

With all due respect, perhaps Sarah Palin is better prepared and better able to perform than you give credit.

Indeed, Down Syndrome individuals are not helpless nor in need of 24/7 attention.

You do a disservice to both DS people and their parents and caregivers with such tripe.

On HGTV's Rate My Space I posted a trophy room. It received so many complaints that both it and I were banned. So I posted it on youtube instead.

So does that mean that her husband should not be working, and both of them should just stay home on welfare to take care of the baby full time?

I also have a special needs child and know how much effort and how much joy they can be. I also know that if a couple works together as a team it makes it better for all involved. So are you suggesting that only the mother can provide for a child with special needs? If so you are a very sexist person. Someone has to be the breadwinner, and if she is elected VP, I am sure her husband will take care of their young son just fine when she is working. I wouldn't be that surprised to see a playpen in the West Wing!

i know two families with down syndrome children who are now adults--40 and almost 50... they weren't watching Big Bird tapes at 25... these two people happened to be doing more than that at that age... you should know that you can't generalize people with down syndrome...

Life Goes On was one of my fave TV shows. Did you know Chris Burke now has a band that tours? As you said, quite the brave young man!

Watched the video; Cokie’s remark seemed like tactical advice to the Dem’s rather than an emotional “whack”.

My impression as well so I'll refrain from any accolades to Cokie.

LOL

As long as there are Dems, there’ll be interesting times, by that definition.

Isn’t it. I read that she also breast feeds and interrupted an interview to perform duties Bill Weir is oh so concerned with.

his supporters are a pack of undisciplined, abrasive jerks who don't realize the damage they're doing to their Messiahobama

The blood of 60's radicalism still runs strong in that party. They think that leadership is being the tool of Hubert Humphrey and Bobby Seale.

Obama chose a mature white guy

He is trying to channel the spirit of FDR and JFK by choosing an old time East Coast liberal.

Most are so far over the edge that they cannot hear.

An interesting philosphical question. Could Wile E. Cayote falling of the edge of the cliff hear the whoosh of the anvil threatening to add the final insult when he impacts terra firma?

Indeed, do falling liberals even hit terra firma or do their souls just keep falling into the limitless void of hopeless despair?

They live in the dirt, they are just filth that has nothing at all for REAL AMERICA -— nothing but an ugly, selfish, blind pursuit of power and control over America and its citizens.

Yeah, but they are promising free money - which is enough for many voters to overlook their other characteristics.

If there's one thing the Clinton years taught us, it's that the American voter can be bought - cheap. ;)

Re: Your Post 127.

I was quoting Kolondouris, or whatever the hell his or her name is. I was the person who posted having close friends with DS kids, and that they felt blessed to have those children, and their other children, and did not see them as a burden or hardship.

What’s the fuss about? Isn’t she running for vice-president? She wouldn’t necessarily have a full slate all the time, and she would usually have a lot of flexibility in her schedule.

This is going to be terrific. She’s the most interesting politician I’ve ever seen.
