It looks like she has even stronger support from Republican women than Republican men, while Democrat and independent women are a little less supportive of her than are their male counterparts.

The MSM is going into full attack mode. Several articles quoting NObama on foreign policy..... transparent attempts to bolster his weaknesses.
I love PALIN...... I have donated to McCain08 for the first time. Because of Palin

Time will tell.
My guess is more people - especially women - will like her as they get to know more about her.

Exactly. Support from a quarter of Democrats is very good news! That can only go up once people learn more about her and she has a great story to tell!

Rasmussen’s methodology provides a very good look at trends and responses to events.
Unfortunately, there was no change in Obama’s 4% lead last night.
That is a multiday moving average so we do not know if the oldest day was very strong for Obama, and last night strong for McCain yielding a net neutral result. But we do know it was net neutral.
Palin’s announcement probably did trample on any uptick that would have occurred from his speech, but we do not yet know if PUMA polling respondents moving to McCain were obscured by some strong Obama polling result on the oldest day of moving average.

Palin earns positive reviews from ... 63% of unaffiliated voters
That is the number that is probably rattling the DNC and Team Obama this morning.

DNC and Obama are probably thinking: If only Joe might trip and fall and hurt himself really bad -- bad enough to have to be replaced. If only.......

A swell has begun out in the ocean depths, that in passing, is scarcely felt on the surface. But as it nears shore, and enters the harbor, it builds, with an intensity and pressure that was difficult to predict before it arrives. This phenomenon is known as a “Tsunami”, so named by the Japanese for what is translated as “harbor wave”.
John McCain did something both unpredictable and brilliant. Sarah Palin’s first introduction to most of the US public went remarkably well, and she made the best of it. You don’t get a second chance at first impressions.
Those who were not immediately swayed to support of Palin, at least were left without a large NEGATIVE impression, and the McCain campaign can work with that. Expect a lot more people to come around in the coming weeks. If the McCain-Palin ticket can develop something like coattails, the results should show up in both Houses of Congress as well.
Maybe there might not be a majority for Republicans, but the Democrats are not going to have the “bulletproof” majority they think they deserve.

And it was quite a contrast with Obama's 3 a.m. text messaging, which flubbed big time -- Obama's first major action as the nominee.

A 4% lead is not much to brag about. The Democrats had their convention and it was a dud. The GOP will have theirs and they can move into the lead. If that 4% lead was real, the MSM and the Drivebys would be writing about it, not about Sarah Palin. I don't belive its even 4%! If anything, Obama's strength has been overestimated!
