What’s the difference between a snow machine and a snowmobile, for the benefit of those in the lower 48?

Whats the difference between a snow machine and a snowmobile, for the benefit of those in the lower 48? Same thing, just different terminology. In fact, the native Alaskans out in the bush often refer to it as a "Sno-Go".
Gosh, I miss living up there.

As a lower 48’er, the distinction is that the Alaska people who use them call em snowmachines. Maybe in Minnesota they are snowmobiles
