But Todd Mitchell Palin can claim accomplishments beyond his marriage to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the surprise running mate of Republican presidential hopeful John McCain.
Todd Palin is a veteran oil-field worker and commercial fisherman affectionately dubbed Alaska's "first dude." He's a man who took college courses but does not have a degree, yet can hold his own in sophisticated circles, even hosting a reception for five former Alaska first ladies earlier this month.

Same thing, just different terminology. In fact, the native Alaskans out in the bush often refer to it as a "Sno-Go".

Okay......I’m still not in love with John McCain, but I’m warming up to him since the Saddleback Forum. I’m going to give him HUGE props & congratulate his sound judgment in picking Sarah Palin. At first, I was concerned about her “lack of experience”, but the more I’m finding out about her - the more I’m LOVING her and her whole family!!!

To me, they both just scream competency. Of course, being totally competent, they don’t have to scream about it. Just like being able to take someone down means you don’t ever even have to threaten them because it simply shows in the confidence they radiate.
I love this family! Real people in a real world with their heads on straight capable of doing whatever must be done, doing it well and moving on to the next. My kind of people!
As a lower 48’er, the distinction is that the Alaska people who use them call em snowmachines. Maybe in Minnesota they are snowmobiles
