When is the deadline to contribute to the McCain-Palin campaign before the welfare-financing rules kick in?

I have a fundraising letter from McCain ... it's September 4 ... the day he accepts the nomination.

” Who has ever seen this sort of excited, passionate reaction to the selection of a VP nominee? Who ever heard of it being common for the new VP nominee to be compared to and contrasted with the other party’s Presidential nominee? It’s almost as though Palin were the nominee for President, and not VP! “”

Because by 2016, or maybe even 2012 if McCain retires after one term, she will be the effective head of the GOP.

Time to bring back the macarena.

How about the top of the ticket, which will rule as President, if elected? Did you get your “3 out of 4”?

I don't envy ANYONE having to explain to a Japanese what a "RINO" is! ;-)

Just give her a picture of John Sidney McCain, whom so many of these Freepers are salivating over and can't seem to keep their pants on over these days.

Sur-frikkin-realistic. Free Republic of all places.

saddly Victory 2008 is the committee run by Fiorina with such a demonstration of incompetent skill.

Fiorina is the one who met with Clinton’s brother recently.

I fully expected Hillary to come out and say something nasty about Palin’s kind words during her introduction.

I have been giddy since last night and finding out from Norman Bates that he had tracked an airplane from Flagstaff Arizona to Anchorage Alaska to Middletown Ohio.

Palin reminds of the first time I met my wife Doc and instantly knew she was the gal for me.

I expected the left wing rabble and gutter trash to say bad things but even the In The Tank for Obama Assets are spewing out vile statements about this fine person.

I believe that McCain went a long way to winning the election at 9:07 AM pacific time.

What a day, WOW I really needed this uplifting after listening to the media after the show Obama put on in Denver.

Thanks for the link.

I bought several priced items.

I still have my original Reagan buttons.

AND she is VERY pro-drilling and pro-drilling ANWR, AND (it just keeps getting better!) doesn’t think GW is caused by human activity!

McCain-Palin got $250 from me yesterday, and the RNC will get more as the election goes on. I didn’t expect it to matter who he picked, but this was such a brilliant pick, I got excited for the first time this season, (and choked up a little, to be honest)! To satirize the perpetually peeved Michelle Obama, for the first time in this election season, I’m really proud of my party (LOL!).

John Sidney McCain, whom so many of these Freepers are salivating over and can't seem to keep their pants on over these days.

You're confusing McCain with Palin. Very few around here are in any way enamored with the former. In the latter, however, they see a true conservative and Beltway outsider who might just play a big role in the future of the party, perhaps as early as 2012. ....which is why they want to see her get her foot in the door ASAP.

Sarah Palin is exactly the right choice for John McCain’s running mate.I have done my research on Sara Palin and I am Excited at the idea of this attractive, articulate, intelligent and confident woman in the white house.
Palin is a mother and women that many Americans can relate to. I appreciate and love the fact that she was a Journalism Major. McCain had my vote! Palin does represent the right kind of change and a fitting first for we who call the party of Lincoln our own. I am really excited about an election for the first time in many years. I have worked for republican candidates starting at age 14 a long time ago. Working for THIS woman candidate in the white house will be a pure joy.
Senator Obama = no executive experience.
Senator Biden = no executive experience.
Being a career legislator crafting laws
is not the same as actually managing .

Governor Palin’s term in this office, is executive experience.
Mayor Palin’s term in this office, is executive experience.
Alaska is located next to Russia that was executive experience.
I am a Life Member of the NRA and Sarah Palin is too!
Her husband is a manly man! No jokes about being first/second man will affect him.

This is the first true indication of a “bounce.” All of the media hype and negative reporting is, well, what it always is and would have been for any net-plus candidate (Rich, disliked Romney; Inexperienced, token pick Jindal; Bush pawn Portman; Bigot Huckabee; unimpressive, thin-resumed Pawlenty...etc.)

Blah, blah, blah.....

But the bottom line is - in the course of about four hours, without having a fundraiser, just based on positive reaction to the pick - McCain gained over 3,000,000 dollars without trying.

Biden did no such thing for Obama.

When all is said and done, Palin will be a net plus for McCain in many ways, including the women vote. No, she won't bring many die-hard Liberals, Abortionists, or people who would never, ever, ever vote for McCain under ANY circumstance; but she will bring enough of a chunk of middle-of-the-road women, working moms, glass-ceiling breakers, and truly undecided women to have an impact in November.

The money is already speaking louder than the media in this regard.

McCain still has (Lord willing) this bounce; he has stolen the thunder of Obama’s bounce quickly, and he still has his own convention yet to happen. I suspect that by this time next week, we will see McCain slightly ahead in the majority of LV polls, while holding small leads in the key swing states.

They are walking into McCain's trap in two respects that I never saw coming:

1.) The Obama folks are making inexperience the issue of the day - a well-set trap by McCain that they have walked into blindly. If this was any part of Team McCain's strategy - which I suspect it was - they have succeeded tremendously. Inexperience, not change, is now the issue of the day. McCain changed the battlefield to one in his favor in less than 24 hours after Obama’s speech. Absolutely brilliant!

2.) Palin is now riding the tide of very, very low expectations. She is an impressive candidate, and the haters out there - especially the media - are going to see her “unexpectedly” shine, and then lose sleep at night because of it.

Who cares which figurehead is “running” it? It is the only way to support McCain directly after the convention.

By the looks of the thread I've read, I'll be the only one sharing your outlook... She's great except the Gore "Global Warming" bug has bit her and of course McGore is a leading member of GANG-GREEN for America's economy... When his branch of the Repellican Party throws us "half a loaf" to make even him seem acceptable and we find some GREEN mold on it, we're still supposed to feel really great about it.

Knewt Greengich had the same GREEN mold all over him, too!!! Never care a whit about private property rights and certainly never defended them. But waves of enthusiasm are hard to stand up against and this pick sure sucked all the oxygen out of the Dems over-priced and over-hyped CONvention!!!

Yes m’am! And this was just in the first 24 hours. The latest report is that he got another $3.5M in the next 24, for a total of $7.5M in just two days!
