Holy cow, that’s an AOL poll???
The blogger’s name is Kevin.
He has a blog called redstaplerchronicles.com
http://redstaplerchronicles.com/the-mccainpalin2008-experiment/
But, I did invent Obama Nation.
Bingo!
My thoughts ‘zactly.
Post 45 has more detail than I knew.
Wonder if they are metal, and make a nice "clank!" when struck by a fast-moving object...
You’re kidding?
A 100% (pre-convention) bounce?
Of course, it IS a self-poll, not an official one, but that’s a pretty map.
Relax, that AD was a misprint. What it meant to say was that “MoveON is THROWING AWAY 1 million Obama buttons this week”....
I had no idea there were even ads on that page since I use a hosts file to block virtually all ads on most sites. The only ads I ever see are one's hosted by the sites I am visiting.
Folks, I recommend at least checking out using a hosts file (go to: and see how a hosts file works and can save you from all kinds of internet nasties. Here's what that page looks like for me (notice the absence of any advert):
I've been saying here for months that Mitt Romney was the only logical choice for VP. This is because I never considered that McCain would actually pick somebody that is far more conservative than him. I always assumed that Romney's main competition were people like Lieberman, Hutchison or some other run-of-the-mill senatorial type.
So McCain shocked the hell out of me with this Palin pick and even though I'm sad for Mitt, I'm completely on board with Sarah Palin.
This is the most explosive GOP VP pick that I can remember in my lifetime. These are the other ones that I can remember:
George W. Bush picking Dick Cheney in 2000. OK, before Palin, this was my favorite VP pick. But I don't think it helped put Bush over the top, in fact, I think Bush lost a few points over Cheney, a function of the fact that the MSM hated Cheney. But from my perspective, the best pick ever (up to now).
Bob Dole picking Jack Kemp in 1996. Awful choice. Brings back bad memories of 1996 when my hopes of making Bill Clinton a one-termer were dashed. What was Dole thinking?
George H.W. Bush picking Dan Quayle in 1988. Now I agree that Dan Quayle was treated unfairly by the MSM and as a result, I'll always have a soft spot for him. But let's face it, even without the MSM making him (unfairly) a laughingstock, it was a pedestrian choice at best.
Ronald Reagan picking George H.W. Bush in 1980. Again, a pedestrian choice. I kind of wish Reagan had gone with a maverick such as himself as running mate. The past 30 years could have turned out much differently for the GOP.
Gerald Ford picking Bob Dole in 1976. Those two bores actually made Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale look exciting. Ronald Reagan SHOULD HAVE BEEN the nominee that year .
Then we have Richard Nixon picking Spiro Agnew and then Gerald Ford when Agnew had to resign. Both mediocrities who had no right being VP.
Before Nixon, I was too young to remember but even looking in the history books, I can't remember a GOP VP pick that is as dynamic and exciting as this Sarah Palin.
Concur with the “no repubbie picks this exciting” observation.
But notice the ABCNNBCBS won’t comment about any bounce.
