Of all the criticisms an apparently panicky Dem party has heaped on Sarah Palin in the hours since her selection was announced, Keith Boykin [bio] has come up with perhaps the unseemliest. The former aide to President Clinton has accused Palin of being an "affirmative action" pick.
Boykin, a graduate of Dartmouth and Harvard Law, was debating the selection with Republican Joe Watkins at the end of MSNBC's 4 PM EDT hour. After some preliminary jousting, Boykin dropped his bomb.
KEITH BOYKIN Let me just say something about this choice. The reason why she doesn't help, quite frankly, is because it's an insult. It's an insult to women. I spoke to several women today at the Democratic National Convention who said it's insulting John McCain would pick somebodyan affirmative-action candidate basicallywho is not qualified.

Perhaps call her an "Uncle Lifer"? /snicker
Their response has already been posted.
Not Every Woman Supports Women's Rights (NOW's statement about Palin)
Yep, this is going to win back the Hillary women voters.
This translates to the inexperienced male candidate is good. A woman without tons of experience is bad.
Yep, that is going to work.
Keith spoke to leftists and relayed his "findings" to Republicans? Who cares what he said? As it turns out Palin has better qualifications and experience than Barack Obama himself, and, Joe Biden. At least she knows what infanticide is, contrary to Biden and Obama.
Democrats have a way of accusing the right of things they themselves are guilty of, like affirmative action. Perhaps they should look at their own candidates.
First-term governor and former mayor always trumps first-term senator.
Sheesh, I thought everybody knew that!
Hahahahahah!!!!!
This from a black man who supports a half African-American, liberal "community organizer"-turned one-term Senator? That is f***ing rich.
See my tagline.
I say Keith Boykin is an affirmative action hire.
Hey, Keith; I’ve got news for you: Sarah Palin has what Obambi does not have, which is, among other things, EXECUTIVE experience. She is the Chief Executive of a large (landmass) and economically dynamic state. What executive experience does Obambi have again?
Easy now. It's a good day today, but there's a long way to go, with some bad times likely ahead.
they already spoke and said the same thing..insult to women..affirmative action..yada yada yada
I thought Dems and liberals loved affirmative action. It isn’t supposed to matter how qualified the candidate is - just the skin color/gender of the candidate.
Right?
Harvard Law?
Doesn’t the faculty at that so-called good law school teach its students that “the reason is that....” The “reason” is never “because....”
Small point? Sure it is, but it’s one of my pet peeves, and well-educated people know how to speak properly.
As a Dartmouth and Harvard Law graduate, this guy is only working as a “strategist” instead of real job. Wonder if his charge applies to himself.
So much irony, so little time...
As a Mayor and a Governor, she's dealt with running a city and a state, dealing with budgets, working with the legislative and judicial branches of the Alaskan state government, dealing with both parties, and she was also in command of the Alaska National Guard.
Compared to Sarah Palin, Obama is so unqualified that it will be easy for us to explain it to our “undecided” friends.
No wonder the DUmmies are freaking out like crazy!! It's going to be an entertaining weekend!
Let’s see. Gay black man with no intellectual skills, is a Democrat strategist and allowed entry into Dartmouth and Harvard?
Now that is pot calling the kettle black.
I’m confused? I thought Obambi was the affirmative action candidate sicvne he has zero experince and Palin does? Did this guy say this with a straight face?
