Former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney - considered a leading contender for John McCains running mate - praised the Arizona senators surprise pick today, saying Alaska Gov. Sarah Palins story is inspiring.
Governor Palins story is one that all Americans will find inspiring, Romney said in a statement issued earlier today.
Shes a Washington outsider with a commitment to the conservative principles that will make our nation stronger. I look forward to campaigning for Senator McCain, Governor Palin and Republicans all across the country, Romney said.

Glad you liked it.
Mitt supporters aren't called Mittbots for nothing.

Yeah, Mitt's the best ever.
Mitt is classy to the very end. I lift my glass to him, and am proud to have cast my vote for him. If I ever get a chance to vote for him again, it will surely be done.
Now then, it is time to take on the Obama frauds and give them an election day beatdown that will truly be, to steal a MSM codeword, historic.
McCain/Palin 2008!!!!
But considering his education (MBA and Law degree earned simultaneously) and business experience, Mitt is even more accomplished than the rest on your list, including Reagan.
And as far as Ike goes (I never could stand him neither could anyone in MY family), he wasn't as well educated nor was he as politically talented. He had anything BUT a charismatic personality.
Interesting that Ike's granddaughter supports OBAMA and was a speaker on the last day of the convention.
Bots agree with anything their candidate says and does and has said or done. That isn't, and has never been me, or most of the rest of Mitt supporters. Unfortunatley, routine name calling and labeling of THEIR OWN, no matter how unworthy, is a habit among some posters on FR.
Nice try but no ceegar, Leisler! It will be nice not to have to hear from the clueless Mitthaters (as opposed to the anti-Romney posters), a name they have well-earned, about Mitt. Such expressed hatred is exceedingly ugly and evil, partiuclarly when it is so undeserved.
Mitt Romney, class act.
Thanks Mitt, shows real class.
But, but, I just saw a thread saying how bitter you were over being used as a decoy. The MSM couldn’t have gotten that wrong could they ? </s>
You were doing great until you stuffed Julie in. I’m sure that it will be Tom Ridge for what that’s worth.
Class act all the way through.
IMO, Romney should go for Gov. of California. He recently bought a house in Duncan Hunter's backyard. He can continue to prove his executive expertise by fixing the economy and fighting the social issues on the front lines in Commufornia. He can continue to prove himself there for those who just started to get to know him this go around. If he does go for it and wins he would be the second American in history to be the Governor of two states. Bonus points for whoever posts the first one.
...Secretary of State Religion
I consider Mitt way, way less accomplished than Reagan. Reagan overcame a very troubled home life, intact and ever positively. He became, showing his political and communication skills early, the head of the then powerful Actors Union. There he personally clashed not with Massachusetts hacks, but real out and out right Communists. Further Reagan around the mid-30’s worked himself into an Army officer appointment. Something Mitt would of well benefited from, but didn't. Nor have his sons, which tells me something about the areas Mitt thinks are important, and those that are not.
Eisenhower built, and ran an organization, against mortal opposititon, of a size and complexity that Mitt has never even fathomed.
Yes, the end of the Korean War, and the 1950’s were a horror for America. That damned Ike, leaving Americans alone. The only hate I've seen is it expressed often by Mittbots. Projection.
Very gracious statement on Mitt’s part. He now has the opportunity over the next four years or so to demonstrate that he truly is a conservative. It is my hope that he is and does as he can make a strong contribution to a McCain Administration in his cabinet.
That is an excellent idea.
Why haven't we heard from Huck? LOL.
I would put Thompson as Sec. of State. His height alone would scare the crap outta our enemies. Or Sec. of Homeland Sec. and move Rudy to run the FBI or Attorney General.
I’ve been watching for Huckabee’s response and there hasn’t been any. According to a report in Little Rock today, he was supposed to be with McCain to support the choice but he didn’t show up.

I doubt our enemies would be intimidated in that way, plus Fred, being an actor is already comfortable in front of the camera and wouldn’t take crap from the WH press corp and would squash David Gregory like the cockroach he is.
You have a good point that Reagan had to overcome so much more in his personal life than Mitt. Politically, Mitt and Reagan (before the presidency) were pretty equal. But Mitt's accomplishments outside of government, even though he had far more advantages then Reagan, were still greater. Mitt, unlike many of the advantaged, made about as much of them as he could make. And regardless of your opinion of a college education, it is worth more in Mitt's time than in my own or now, and it is remarkable that he obtained a law degree and an MBA simultaneously, and still graduated first in his class.
The Mitt supporters (and I was even more enthusiastic about Reagan), were on the Mitt threads, defending him and promoting him which means by definition they were being positive about him and thus were being positive most of the time, as compared with the Romney haters, who posted nasty, negative, hatefilled, comment after comment after comment about Mitt. Thus, it doesn't logically follow Mitt supporters were projecting the kind of real hatred that was posted so consistently and persistently by Mitt haters time and again. Good try though.
Another thing about Reagan. He was, became conservative when the world was slipping the other way. Working in a very non-conservative industry. After everything the Reagan revolution accomplished, the supposedly greatly educated Mitt, more or less denounced it and said he wasn't a Reagan/Bush man. That's like running into East Germany after the wall came down.
And then Mitt, supposedly greatly educated, and a great businessman, that must of heard of Hong Kong, Singapore or even Massachusetts business fleeing to the southern states, still lap dances with the Massachusetts Democrat racketeers.
What? Why? How can you be so educated, in business and having seen a complete turnaround in American, if not the world, and be so late to the party? So, is Mitt stupid, or deeply liberal? He became 'conservative' when, 2005?( after his recent socialist Romneycare ).
Given his education, his business skills, and what he saw happen the last 30 years what's the explanation?
I tend to agree with your assessment with minor changes. Guiliani should be Attorney General. “The Messiah” can be ambassador to Kenya ;-)
