Wow. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's pick for Vice-President. Folks, this is s close to a game changer as you can get.
Let me give you some instant reaction. I can tell you that The Brody File has been talking to multiple sources in the conservative Evangelical community and the reaction has been EXTREMELY POSITIVE. As a matter of fact, I am told that when conservative leaders heard the news this morning at a meeting at the Council for National Policy, one attendee told me that there is "nothing but elation. People are giddy. They are energized and they now believe that in fact this campaign has the ability to win this election."

I admit that I started crying this morning when I heard the news.
No Kidding!!! All those PUMAs are rushing to volunteer for M/P, and to send them money. Wheeeeeee!
She's in favor of drilling in ANWAR too! I love this pick!
Get used to saying “President McCain” everybody!
Nobody can "RUN THIS COUNTRY". And the best leaders are the ones who recognize that THEY CAN'T. They choose wise counsel and rely on their counsel. Palin appears to be the kind of person who is ready right now to take the reigns and turn this country in the right direction. She is smart enough to know she CAN'T RUN THIS COUNTRY. All she can do is to take the lead. Something she has apparently done her entire life.
The country is OURS TO RUN. That is the Reagan Philosophy. Reagan allowed America to run itself. Sarah Palin, if called upon to be president seems wholly capable of following Reagan's example.
DAMNIT MCQUEEG! Now you’re starting to make me think about the future!
(I was getting sooooo comfortable sitting this one out)
Is this election even about the American People anymore???
What happened to Lieberman or Romney???
I just don’t get this pick not one bit......
Me, too.
We now have an ANTI-antichrist.
I'm overjoyed, having been depressed all summer.
Palin for President! (eventually)
What a brilliant move to win over Dems. He announces in a state that went for Hillary in the primaries. Palin spoke about the glass ceiling issue and mentioned the anniversary of womens suffrage. She mentioned a quote from famous Democrat John Glen, saying a hero recognizes another hero.
He selected an army mom, wife of a union member, mother of 5, governor of an oil/natural gas state whos easy on the eyes. I dont see how they can loose this election.
She made an explicit appeal to the Hillary voters, saying “as Hillary Clinton said, there are 18 million cracks in the hardest of glass ceilings... Well, the women of America aren’t done yet!”
First woman VP for America from the Republican Party? I bet Hillary is screaming mad tonight.
Great pick Jim! I can’t wait for next years March for Life!
This was an AWESOME pick! Couldn’t have done a better job IMHO! All the head fakes McCain did were hilarious. One of the people on Fox said he has been making secret trips to Alaska to meet with Palin. They know how to keep a secret.
I’ve expressed on here my concerns about Palin ... not ideologically—she’s great there ... but about not being all that impressive as a speaker and perhaps not being ready for prime time.
After hearing her speak, I have to say she did a bang-up job under what must have been huge pressure. I still worry about her handling the trench warfare of this campaign, but I feel a lot better about her.
The base was looking for a reason to get on board the McCain train ... I believe the enthusiasm gap will start to close now.

She has more experience than Obamination has and more executive experience than Biden does. When it comes to actually "running things" she has more experience than both of them combined.
In short - she is more prepared to be our President than the Dims' choice for President, and we can expect that McCain will not just keel over in the first few years, so if she does need to step in, it will be with some real experience of the Office under her belt.
Palin is awesome and I think America will soon realize she did more in less than 2 years as governor of Alaska than most governors do in 8 years. She has more of a record of reform than Biden does in a lifetime in the Senate. Her resume dwarfs that of Obama to mainstream America.
I cannot wait for her to talk about Alaska values where people don’t look to government to fix their problems.
This just became the real reform ticket.
I have serious reservations about McCain on immigration and environmentalism but his campaign has been brilliant in the last few weeks and this pick will really energize his campaign going into the convention.
More important than money will be prayers! Never forget that.
“What happened to Lieberman or Romney???”
The Democrats are welcome to put Democrats like Joe Lieberman on their ticket. Why can’t Republicans run Republicans?
