“McCain caused the sea levels to rise...”

OK, I don’t speak fluent Trollish. What is this supposed to mean, exactly?

I think it means McCain just casued the dems to collectively crap in their pants. And now they should save it rather than flush it, so they can make ‘green fuel’ with it! Bwahahahaha, I loved the high mental humor.

McCain's people have been performing excellently. From the quality of their ads, designed to be talked about on cable and thus get free time. The depicting the haloed one's celebrity and using it aginst him. The brilliantly conceived congratulatory ad last night. And now this brilliant move, not only the choice, but the manner in which it was presented. Take the O2 out of last night for the Dems, keeping it under wraps, but letting it begin to slip out in time for the nets to pick it up.

Had G.W Bush been served as well by his people, these last four years, there might today be a move to amend the Constitution to allow a third term.

Never said anything about them

Point made

To whom?

A poster wrote This woman is not ready to be commander in chief to which I replied "She's not running for president". So, what does the experience of ANYONE you mentioned have to do with my post when all I pointed out was the fact she's not running for president?

Can you answer that?

Ma'am, I'm sure Ms. Palin has a lot of fine qualities, but remember it'll be Gollum who sets the agenda: Amnesty for illegal aliens, continued indebtedness to China, continuing to outsource American jobs, etc...

And, while Gollum might be better than Obama and has a VP candidate prettier than Joe Biden, you're still getting socialism light. So, unless all you're looking for is getting any Republican in the White House at any cost, you're breathless excitement is way too premature.

My liberal leaning son, who lives in AK, LOVES this woman.

You're liberal son likes her, so, if you're smart, you'll ask yourself why.

Mary, it's gollum who'll be setting the agenda, so don't be surprised when this "conservative" woman helps him usher in socialism light.

McCain is a Trojan Elephant. Who better to assist him in helping to sneak through the country club elite's socialist policy than a proven "conservative" woman?

My advice to you: Take a deep breath, calm yourself down, get your feet back on the ground and wait until you're clearheaded before you decided you're going to gush all over Frau Palin.

Going to the voting booth to vote third party is like going to the brothel for companionship.

Palin is McCain's conservative "beard". He's a Trojan Elephant and who better to help him usher in socialism light with the complicity of Republican officials than an attractive "conservative" governor from Alaska? (Remember they also told us that George Bush was a conservative.) So, unless the MSM and members of the GOP describe someone as a reactionary or a right-winger, it's best to question the candidates bona fides.

Dear E. Cartman:

“you’re” should be “your”

If that were the only mistake you made, I would be silent. But you are mistaken about Palin.

While I am not a fan of the Republican nominee, this selection is a master stroke in the current political environment.

Socialism light, you say? Perhaps. Obama is militant Marxism and mindless anti-Americanism. He must, absolutely must be defeated. Palin is a step in that direction.

Please recognize the life-or-death struggle for the continuation of this republic for what it is. Obama is the quintessence of the evil facing us. Overstatement? I don’t think so.

I will assuredly vote for McCain & Palin this November. And pray!

My son likes strong women. He likes her because she’s a mover and a shaker. He’s lived there near her for a number of years and approves of what she’s done in government.

I don’t have to take a deep breath. I look at who he could have chosen and am glad he chose a pro-life, conservative Christian woman.

Been there done that... liberals are spreading the story that Palin supported Buchanan in 1996 and is a dangerous evangelical right-winger.

We KNOW she’s a conservative, they KNOW she’s a conservative. If you are not clued in, get educated.

its best to question judgement of AWOL conservatives who are desperate to valiantly lose to the left. If you are not going to join the battle to defeat Obama, you might as well give up on politics entirely, you are at best a spectator at worst a masochist.

“You’re liberal son likes her, so, if you’re smart, you’ll ask yourself why.”

80% of Alaska loves this conservative woman because she is a reformer and has integrity and sticks to her values. What’s not to love?

What getting palin as VP gets us: THE CHANCE TO REBUILD THE GOP BRAND IN THE IMAGE OF A POPULAR REFORMIST CONSERVATIVE.

She’s only 44. She’ll be around for some time after McCain retires.

WHY ARE YOU SO DESPERATE TO GET OBAMA ELECTED?

What getting palin as VP gets us: THE CHANCE TO REBUILD THE GOP BRAND IN THE IMAGE OF A POPULAR REFORMIST CONSERVATIVE.

Problem is it's still McCain at the top of the ticket. Given his well documented propensity of dictating to his unerlings these several decades now, do you really think he's going to do something different with Mrs. Palin? Whyever should he listen more to her than he did Rick Santorum and other conservative members of his party? And, yes, I know he might have said she'll have a hand in shaping policy, but don't forget McCain lies.

So, even if the GOP now has a member on the ticket who's a real conservative, the direction of the presidential leadership will not change: It'll be McCain continuing to push the party to the left.

By the by, if it were a Palin-McCain ticket, I could support it. It would be a completely different ticket. But a McCain-Palin ticket still moves left and co-opts another conservative to do it. It's politically very clever without forcing the party to actually act in a conservative fashion.

WHY ARE YOU SO DESPERATE TO GET OBAMA ELECTED?

I can't stand Obama. I fear him, but the only thing I fear more is the loss of the country's conservative movement, which is precisely what President McCain will give us.

OK, I re-read the comment and I guess you’re right. Maybe I’m too dumb for FreeRepublic. I’m afraid it went over my head.
