The entire winner-take-all CA vote was not counted (after all the uproar about butterfly ballots, running out of ballots, election snafus, and of course, EVERY VOTE COUNTS)

I think you are right. Even though her name has been tossed around here the past few weeks as possible VP, I never took it seriously so I never did much research on her.

I was initially disappointed that Mitt didn't get it but the more I find out about her, the more I am impressed. Looks like the McCain campaign not only did a good job with their choice but did a tremendous job keeping it a secret.

Aside from the disappointment over Mitt, I'm extremely glad it wasn't somebody like Pawlenty or Ridge. That would have sucked a lot of air out of the campaign.
