Important Update from Rev. Rob Schenck, VIP Guest of the John McCain Campaign as VP Announcement is Made Today Contact: Peggy Birchfield, 202-546-8329, ext 103; Rev. Rob Schenck, 703-447-7686 mobile; both with National Clergy Council

DAYTON, Ohio, Aug. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- President of the conservative and pro-life National Clergy Council, Rev. Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), will be a VIP guest at John McCain's campaign announcement today in Dayton Ohio when he will name his Vice Presidential running mate. Mr. Schenck, who just returned from the Democratic National Convention, was told this morning by confidential sources that Senator McCain has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, a pro-life Catholic.

Rev. Schenck states "If indeed Governor Palin has been selected as John McCain's running mate it is reason for pro-life conservatives to rejoice. If this is indeed the case, it is important to note that this ticket will include a formidable and experienced executive who is also a woman, the combination is powerful and will prove irresistible to many religious and other conservatives."

Rev. Schenck is available for further comment over the weekend at mobile 703-447-7686 and during weekday hours at 202-546-8329, extension 101.

If he was "told this morning by confidential sources that Senator McCain has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin" then why does he say "If indeed Governor Palin has been selected as John McCain's running mate

If true, I think this is a good move.

well, she seems like a mix of ronald reagan, bret farve and raquel welch,so whats not to like. She also realizes that the life-blood of the USA is cheap energy and that ,that very life is being choked by communistic liberals.

Don’t know much about her but what I’ve heard so far makes her sound like a GREAT CHOICE.

According to a couple of online sources Gov. Palin describes her religious affiliation as “protestant”. She is not Catholic.

Hm. I can’t say I’m very impressed by a clergyman who passes on confidential information to the media....

Political philosophy is irrelevant if you don't win.

You must have the best pitch to the most constituencies to win.

Most women feel a legacy of being less in our society.

The Dems passed on Hillary and Sibelius and showed themselves to have the same old political hack - old boys club thinking.

McCain knows that he needs a game-changer, that Hillary votes are there for the taking.

Most women know that the choice/life issue will not be decided by the next president.

Women are so hungry for a place at the last table they have not been seated at.

Women are the largest under-served voter group.

White Demo men expect to get women and black votes with out putting them at the table.

Kay Bailey Hutchinson or Sarah Palin if the Republicans want to win and not just talk about winning.....

I have to believe this was thoroughly looked into during the vetting process so I can take solace in that.

Well good ole MSNBC has "facing state investigation" under their bio on Palin. My only concern is that this will take a few months to resolve itself (per the article) and that's the last thing we need hanging over her head.

Media concurs it's a bold move on McCain's part.
